Lets try this again bestbaby,when one makes a mistake on a tax form that in and of itself does not equate to "cheating".Now if you or any one else here have proof of willful and criminal behavior on the part of these nominees I suggest you contact the treasury dept. and push for prosecutions.Otherwise all we have here are people who submitted either an incomplete or flawed form ,and consequently had to make/or will have to make payments to the IRS(including fines foer their errors).
Sure the democrats are for repeal of the Bush tax cuts...they don't pay taxes anyway!
I don't think anyone would argue that people make mistakes on tax returns. However, and this is a big HOWEVER, Mr. Geithner as an employee of the International Monetary Fund was told, along with everyone else, that they were liable for U.S. federal taxes and, in fact, were given an amount of money equal to that estimated tax liability in addition to their salary to net out their income! How many of us would love to have that kind of sweet deal. So to say that Mr.Geithner "made a mistake" kinda stretches creditability. Do you really belive the current head of the IRS could make that many mistakes for four years??
Tom Daschle is a guy that Joe Biden would say is "unpatriotic"....as is anyone who does pay $250,000 in taxes due. Daschle wants to run a nationalized healthcare system and can't even manage his own taxes...?
Interesting how both Geithner and Daschle paid their tax debt owed to the country when they were in line for top positions in the super ethical, lobby free, Obama administration.
As an aside, Carolyn Kennedy did not pass the vetting test because of possible tax problems. I guess democrats only like to tax everyone but themselves!!
