ORIGINAL: Sanity The media vetted "Joe The Plumber" because he was in the public eye? Because people wanted to know more about him? Really? Are you sure? Nobody "vetted" Joe the Plumber, but other than that, yep, I'm positive. He became a minor celebrity when the McCain campaign made him their poster boy. He was perfect - a camera-ready 40-something struggling small business owner, and in a manly field, no less. "Joe the Piano Tuner" or "Joe the Tax Accountant" just doesn't have the same solid, American ring to it. The media researched him, which I'm sure you're aware is what they do with celebrities. People love gossip. It sells. Would that it were not so. I know way too much already about Paris, Brittany and Jessica, but I can't seem to avoid hearing more. It's kind of a hoot how you insist on seeing him as a victim of the left-wing conspiracy. Joe wasn't savaged. It didn't take much to expose Joe's lies - they were pretty big and obvious. Of course the lefty bloviators were all over it. To be fair, the righty bloviators were as much all over supporting Joe and slamming the liberal media as the leftys were over Joe's exposure. All the controversy lost Joe his $40k/yr job and won him a dedicated fan base among the anti-tax crowd and a new career in media, and occasionally a national stage. Joe the Plumber seems to be doing pretty well for himself. quote:
If that's the correct version of reality, then tell me, why didn't we hear anything about Obama's past. You can't possibly be serious.
