You're right, there is no enjoyment in controlling someone who is “pathetic”. My sub is far from pathetic. His submission to me takes strength, patience, courage and tenacity amongst other things. He is an intelligent, thoughtful, hardworking, sensitive, talented and a productive human being. He submits to me with grace and pride; my subs “will power” is very strong. I feel you have some kind of male sub stereotype going on, maybe? I suspect very few people would actually want someone in their lives that they genuinely thought was pathetic. “Resistance”? No. Major resistance from my submissive to any ordinary request would be telling me something is very wrong. I have no desire for 'real' power struggles. In my circumstances, I would consider “resistance” with no justifiable cause other then ego, a 'weakness'. Pre-arranged 'spiritedness' whilst playing can be fun when I am in the mood, and I have given my sub the scope and permission for this, but only when I encourage it. But we both know that it is 'playing'. Any undue 'spiritedness' outside of playing would not be tolerated, indeed, he doesn't exhibit it.
