I for one would like to stay on topic for just a moment & say that I wish everhope the easiest recovery possible.  I know all about not being allowed to walk around at will.  All those other people kept showing off, walking past my windows while I had to sit on my dead butt & wish.  So follow orders now & you won't have trouble later.  So sayeth Granny.

PS.  You're just as adorable in person as you are here & I do wish that I could have stayed to care for you.  [8D]

my suggestion is to be very very careful when you do get up (bathroom, etc.) Three weeks is one heck of a long time and the muscles can atrophy without your knowledge and cause you to drop. Try to prevent any "free" walking, even if it means moving some furniture around so you can always have something to hold on to.

cjan -> RE: -=Her scraped knees weren’t what you think. Logging in from ER waiting room=- (2/10/2009 12:19:09 PM)

Everhope should be real easy for RS to catch while she scoots around on a walker...mebbe that was her plan all along...

Second,  RS, you don't have to make up a story about the scraped and bruised knee, the sort throat, none of that.  Having worked in a few ERs myself, a while ago, ER personnel are "hardened" to what we see, and you don't need to make an excuse.  "Didn't look where you were sitting and sat right down on that cucumber, did you, now, Mr. Pink?   Don't worry...happens all the time."

[8|][8|][8|] reminds me on my situation when I went with my ex to the ER in 2005 at apprx. 3am as he had dislocated his shoulder...[>:][>:][>:] that felt soooooo bloody embarrassing...even when i didn't do anything to him [&o][&o][&o] boyoboy thank goodness they had to get in his shoulder and not mine....that did already hurt me from watching it...

Have a good rest gorgeous B...and when you get a chance then please make a pic from RS with Hollys nurse-hat...I guess I would not be the only one who would like to see that [:D]

VirginPotty -> RE: -=Her scraped knees weren’t what you think. Logging in from ER waiting room=- (2/10/2009 12:56:37 PM)

You reminded me, Phoenix of when my daughter was in grade school, her afterschool provider picked her up from school & they got into a horrific car accident. My daughter's nose was broken but that was her only injury in addition to cuts/scrapes on her face.
From the hospital we went to the drug store for her prescription. Her face was bruised, blackening eye, blood all on the front of her coat. All accusatory eyes were on me after looking at her!

Thanx for sharing the advice and well . . . maybe the knees were from Cali but the chapped lips happened here in FL.  The funniest thing is to see here say "I just don;t know why my lips get so dry here in Florida" . . . everhope darling, sweetheart, just think about what your lips have been doing here that they didn't do in Cali.  Ima make her a card says "have chapstick will travel."

FR:

First, and most important, Everhope, get well!  Time spent off that knee now will be repaid in spades with less pain and more mobility in the future.  And remember, vicodin and pina coladas, separately, are fine.  Not so much when you mix them!

Pink?   Don't worry...happens all the time."

holly, do you have any other old nurses' gear that you no longer want ? The scrubs just don't have the same, umm, effect on me.

holly:   hmmm...a rather short nurses uniform, white garters and stockings, stilleto heeled white pumps, white lace corset.......

But i mught need this stuff if i ever go back to work, CJ

Dayumm!  These are NOT the required uniform in the hospitals I work with.   If you are going back to "work" in that outfit, holly, you might want to check the Nursing Act...that section about "professional contact with patients"? *GRIN*  and please, apply HERE!

I had to read that three times to figure out you meant the STATE, and not me.  [sm=ofcourse.gif]

By the way, my lips were chapped in Florida long before I... uhhh.... used them for certain activities.  It's just too damn DRY there.

LoL if my mother would read this she would ask you to join the club from when I was hit by a car twice...(according to my parents also once almost by a bin-collector-van where I was 5 or so and they and our neighbours thought that would be it with me...but nope, on that occasion I was faster and BEHIND the van *lol*) Thankfully, like your daughter on your mentioned example I always got away with little injuries such as a cushion (or concusion...whatever that word is). Once I used my brothers bike and drove from the garden path straight through the window into our cellar and according to my mother my head was full with little pieces of glass but not one tiny cut...) So she didn't need to deal with strange looks at her [;)] Sometimes I think I use off all the lives from my cats that might be the reason why they never get very old with me [8|][&o]

But in regards to my mentioned example...well, I also hadn't even touched his arm at all, so there it wasn't my fault for a change...(as he told me after that incident that happened before already as he had some weakness in his shoulder)...well, not only there..

good night, time to get some sleep over here in UK. And you RS spoil little EH a bit, she will show you in three weeks time how thankful she is for your care [:)]
