Ditto for me on the bolded underlined part!!  Allen is 6" taller then me, but my former Master was only 2 inches taller and was of average build but no way did I ever feel unsubmissive towards him. His eyes would turn that glittering black and my mind would say " Oh crap!" and I'd melt hehe

The Domme doesnt have to be bigger in height or weight than me, but stronger yes. I like the feeling of not being able to get away, and that can't be accomplished if I can fight them off.

For me i have always had more respect for a dom that is taller than me. Sir is 5'7 and i am 5'2 when i have on my hooker boots we are nose to nose and i still feel like the sub/slave i love to be for him. So i think that yes hight is a need but Power is must. ~Sub K~

I'm 5'11, Master is 6'2". There's not a whole lot of difference. But I've always liked Men who can make me feel small and vulnerable but protected at the same time. So height really isn't an issue.

Depends, if SHE is taller or shorter, well short chicks are scary as anything when they choose to be. If HE is taller or shorter well a lot of tall guys are just too soft and sweet for my tastes, having that who lenny thing going.

I find this discussion to be very interesting. I'm not surprised that the majority of submissive women prefer larger men, but I am surprised at the responses that say that they would find it hard to "respect" men that are smaller than them. Don't people earn respect by their behavior and actions not by the height they are born with.

I wonder if other male submissives feel the same way, but I actually prefer shorter dominant women. The idea that I'm submitting to someone that is less powerful makes me feel even more submissive. Maybe because I feel that it might be empowering her even more to be so willingly submitting to her as a person rather than her as an "Amazonian" figure.

a man smaller than me, i hate to sound shallow, but i would have a hard time feeling attracted to him

for me, personally, him being bigger than me is heinously important.
even without D/s, i'm just attracted to guys who are much taller. my first bf was 5'10, Sir is 6'5

I'm only 5'2" my Dom is about 5'8" but he's much stronger than I am.  Before my Dom my boyfriend was over 6".  I'm not tiny so I enjoyed someone who is bigger than me.  I also like to struggle and wrestle around so he needs to be stronger than me.

A few of the doms I have been with have been shorter  than me though broader

though I may prefer taller I am more interested in their character and mental presence, to me  it beats someone 6 foot  who comes across as Gomer Pyle or Don Notts type personality

 I'm finding it interesting to read this thread. As a six-foot-eight male, I find the height of my dominant mostly irrelevant. Things might get awkward with a guy under five feet, but I certainly wouldn't rule it out ( and if I needed to put a spin on it, a smaller dominant makes things like pony play a lot easier! [:D] )

I have actually been with a dominant taller than me. He was six foot ten. It was not my hottest experience, nor was his height particularly inspiring of submission in me. In fact, the only time I really noticed it was while giving him a full body massage there seemed to be so much area to cover!

Of course, I don't get off on being physically overpowered. Being made helpless, perhaps, but bondage is a more fun way of doing that for someone who submits passively like myself. I'm not a fighter, which must have been a great relief to the - mostly - much shorter dominants I've been with.

Height only matters up until a certain level. Of course it's fun if your Dominant is much taller/bigger than you and can overpower you by one simple move of an arm, but if anything it's a bonus, not an obligation. There are far more important things. (Selfconfidence, for example, which covers not having unnecessary complexes about height. [;)])

Though perhaps it's easy for me to talk, since I'm 5'4" and live in the Netherlands, where most men (and women!) are tall.

I'm going to sound shallow for this, and it's all right, it's what you asked.   I have felt less submissive to men shorter then me, and deffinatly to men weaker then me.  My Master was nearly nose to nose with me and much stronger (and physically trained), I had the utmost respect for him.

Nor height or age are relevant to being a Dom in my opinion. After all it is more mental than physicall and the latter will follow once the mind set is there. I submitted to people smaller and significantly younger and enjoyed every step of it.

Physicall attraction however is relevant. So if you are physically only attracted to people larger than you yes than that can be a motif to look for only that.

Aside from being a little on the round side, I'm very short so having a Dom/me be shorter than I... I think that would require a slightly different type of kink as those men and women would be dwarves!
I love bigger men, those in the 6 foot range, and taller women as well.
I would feel more submissive to a Dom/me that was taller/bigger than I because there's little use in physical resistance when He or She can overpower me. Which is also a turn-on, haha.

Personality and force of personality are definely more important, but taller and stronger is a perk.

I'd like to think I could feel submissive towards a man under 6'3 but it just hasn't happened.
I'm 5'9, over 6 feet in heels. I want a man to be able to tower over me, engulf me and overpower me.
If anything I wish I were a lot shorter. :(

Strong mind and strenght to kneel me is what i crave for,, size does not really matters,,,i have been with guy about 1 inches taller than me,, they are always physically stronger than me ..

I've never worried about my height 5'9" or so.And I've enjoyed both taller subs and short subs[and they wore heels too]hhmm good!!!!phyical size means sh** if you have a good baseball bat..lololol..[and a .45 in your back pocket]..snickers and have a few frendly Seals teach you a trick or two!
