I tend to name animals after plants, herbs and trees.  So various critters have been called Hemlock, Maple, Sage, etc.

my cat earned her name. it was her first night in the house, tiny little thing that she was. it was bedtime during the first deployment, so i figured nocternal little friend would want to play in the house. i was wrong. she came to the floor beside the high bed and proceeded to WAIL at me until i picked her up and put her in the bed. then she prompty walked onto Master's pillow, and laid down beside the cordless phone, and went to sleep.

her name is Beanshea.

Thank You....it's been surprising difficult, losing my 24/7 companion.  He really was the King of my universe.  I miss him.... [&o]

But....that's the price we pay for having those wonderful beings in our lives.  As hard as it is to lose them, i wouldn't change a thing. [:)]  They are one of the true, pure joys in life.....

I agree on that one with my current cats who are curry, pepper and spicy [:)]
(spicy was also a stray as his previous owners didnt bother about their cats anymore and went for dogs instead...he was at one of my work places and my boss got a fair bit fed up of him and his mum coming and begging for food as they had cats as well...and once his mum gave birth to the next litter at the conservatory at that place, she had enough for sure and decided to take on his mum and a younger sibling, another colleague took on another younger sibling and a few months later - I didnt work there when that happened - I took him on...so we re-homed this cat-family as "team"...and I simply tried to fit him name-wise a bit to my others and didn't find another nice name as I had no interest of naming him garlic or salt or so...). So I thought spicy is fine for him [:D]

I am sorry to hear of the loss of your beloved 4 legged.  I just lost one of mine of 18 years on Sunday. I had him since he was born.  I was able to pull him through some rough spots, but it was his time to go to a better place where he won't have to suffer from the pains of this earthly plain.  I do miss him, especially, at bed time.  He used to curl up under my chin or on top of my head every night.  I truly believe his spirit is here, watching over me just as he did in life.  Your's is probably doing the same for you.  I know his brother that is here misses him, too.

Just wanted you to know Aileen, my thoughts are with you.  I know this is a difficult time for you.  Your kitty will live on in your heart & in your memories.  I am certain you gave him a good home & a great life.

Thanks!  Now, there is a new little one for slaveboy's aunt.  It will bring her as much joy as ours did to us.  Does she have a name for it yet?  There have been some great ones put out there.
