Maine Coon's are awesome - totally playful, sweet, and vocal in the cutest way. I named my little guy Viktor Petrovski, because I love Russian names. Slaveboy, I have two Maine Coons, male and a female. Coons have unique characters, are very large cats (the largest of domesticated breeds, i believe) and tend not to miaow when they 'talk'... they uniquely chirrup. They also have no fear of water and love to drink from a free running tap instead of from a bowl, and never lose their playfulness. My two are 'miniatures' due to having contracted the flu virus while still inside their mothers and as a result, it stunted their organs, but still have the big lion's ruff around the neck, semi long fur and big bushy tails. I rather like your choice of Ishmael, and also HOWAHKAN: Sioux name meaning " of the mysterious voice." Here's my Genghis Khan Both Together The female (black and white) has had her 'beard' clipped in this photo, regular combing is a must due to a tendency of matting and if her ruff is allowed to continue growing it reaches floor level and goes curly like Father Christmas' beard lol

No pictures of the Himalayan in this house, but yesterday as I was putting away laundry I glanced down to see two glowing eyes in the bottom of the closet. Jumped and yelped and she stayed there.
