My deepest sympathies to Aileen and MissIsis on your most recent losses. And to you as well eponavet for sharing about your precious soulmate.

Several months ago my sister-in-law mentined she never realized what I went through when I had to put my Sheeba down until she got a cat of her own and it was missing for a few days. She has two children, but she said this cat felt like her third. They are our best friends and at times Masters/Mistresses.

Thanks for sharing all of the pictures. There were no digital cameras back when Sheeba was put to sleep. She was an exquisite torty. All 14 pounds of her!

As for names, when I looked at his picture I thought
Lancelot
D'Artagnan
Vladimir
Adonis
Socrates
Cary
Seamus
Trevor
Demetrius

Then I thought, ahem, *coughs* Maine-ard. [;)]

I am curious if a name for the "Unnamed" cat has been selected yet......

My aunt called from Alabama and said her and my uncle found a stray cat.  They took it to the vet, and the vet told them it was a Maine Coon Cat.  I find that odd in Alabama; but never the less, I defer to the vet's knowledge.  She was fishing for names.  When I think Maine Coon cat, I think Maine.  When I think Maine, I think New England.  When I think New England, I think Moby Dick.  So my suggestion was, "Ishmael."  I thought it was cute.  She wrote it down on a list she's gathering.

Opinions?  Suggested names?  It should be a fun thread for cat lovers, or lovers of naming things in general.

Trex  as  in  Cooking Fat ,

Or for an American Moggy, you could call it Crisco

My part time moggy is just called ' cat ', my reason being, the moggy has not yet told me his name, either that, or I am too stupid to understand what he says.

His part time owners call him Beckham, but there is no way  I am going to defile my favourite four legged friend with that name.
