i know it wasn't an order. i have lower back pains(from having an epidural needle still wedged into my spine 24hrs after birth) and sleeping on a cold (though carpeted) concrete floor in my basement apartment would only aggrevate it. even if it was ordered, it's stilll one of many hard limits i have.

Oh yes... this is a great thing to ponder on. I do love to sleep on the floor beside his side of the bed, he strokes my hair as we both drift off and I wake up so happy and content. I must say it just feels natural (despite having to use a couple of blankets to lie on because of having very womanly hips lol) I tend to move into positions like that without even thinking about it. If he is sat at the computer desk I will sit on the floor at his feet with my head on his lap. As he is still learning as my master (being totally vanilla beforehand) he does still feel a little uncomfortable about it, if it bothers him then I will move but its not that often now as he is actually getting used to it and is starting to feel good to him too. Unlike a lot of you I get back problems because of my family genetics (that and having huge breasts) I find lying on my back on the floor usually sorts me out.. so sleeping on the floor can be beneficial[:)]

Maybe this is a clue to why the floor felt so good to me at that point? i do ordinarily sit at His feet when watching tv, eating informal dinners, while He is on the laptop etc but that is part of everyday life and has just evolved that way. hugs gabrielle x That is so lovely that you are getting puppy play, in my three years of 24/7 i slept on a basic camp bed in the dungeon unless W/we were away at a hotel. this was fantastic when Mistress had me in metal shackles and chained together with just enough slack to use the bed pan with difficulties, and then my collar would be locked with a chain connecting me to her bed. i had issues with my joints but that is not what kept me awake, i spent most of those nights just watching her breathe and sneaking a look at those wonderful feet sticking out of the covers. i never found i was tired the day after as i had the soul food that made life wonderful.

I've had a slave that wasn't allow in the main bed. She ask'd to sleep on the floor [on a pad] on my side of the bed. she said and I quote" she felt it was her place "

I admire your effort to keep your Master elevated, in part by keeping your self beneth him (literally). The irony here is it sounds more like your desire to exhibit or feel your submission caused you to want to sleep on the floor. A mental "being in your place" if you will. A master should not always have to tell his sub to submit, as it should be an understood by the slave that their role is such. Your desire to sleep on the floor, while not required by your master, only serves to reinforce that desire to show that your level of submission is one that feels your place is on the floor. In many ways, I can see it as an elevation of your master, in making clear that your submission goes beyond his command, but rather includes your very desire to please.

fast reply I've never slept on the floor. Sir perfers me beside him in bed a little too much and I perfer being beside him as well. I don't think I'd like sleeping on the floor all the time..but I could see doing it once in a while if he wished.

It would most likely be a hard limit for me. I could see myself in tears and feeling abandoned a thousand miles away. Cuddling and proximity are just too important to me. Not to mention an achy back and stiff neck in the morning! On the other hand, I can completely empathize with the uber-submissive feeling, just wanting to curl up on the lowest possible surface and drift for a while is great. But being softly called back to bed after a time makes it much more sweet.

hard limit for me, as I am often enough in bad pain already with sleeping in my bed due to my fibromyalgia. Now, even when I am on really good medication for that at the moment I would still not dare to test the floor as I know what the outcome would be. Therefore, thanks but no thanks.

Agree with ASub...lying on my back is unfortunately never long beneficial for me, doesnt matter if on the bed or on the floor as my muscles start to crump (fibromyalgia problems again). Even when I lie relaxed on the bed and am on the telephone I often have to change the possition as my muscles in the buttocks area get pretty uncomfortable...

I'v slept on the floor a lot in my life, so it doesn't bother me in the least bit. If she wants me there I'll give no gripe. Fortunately though she seems to be of the same mind as VS, which is good, because even after all those years on the floor I still find the bed more comfortable.

I agree with Gabrielle, curling up on the floor while someone is lying on a couch or something is really cozy, it creates this level of detached anticipation and submissiveness. i really dig it, the worst part being when various limbs fall asleep, but then you just curl up in bed.

I wrote a journal entry about the topic after my first night on the floor. It is very powerful and enjoyable. I still enjoy it from time to time, and so does Mistress. Not only does she enjoy knowing I'm on the floor, but also having the bed to Herself. ;) She also like to snuggle though, so it's the exception and not the rule. If you think your body will hold up, I would recommend it to any sub who hasn't tried it.

Sir would never willing have me sleep on the floor because he likes to cuddle to much just like I do and I keep him warm on the long winter nights. He calls me his furnace. Only once have I spent a part of the night on the floor we were at his parent’s house and our daughter had a nightmare. So being the mother and fact that sir and I were sharing a Twin bed I went to floor to hold her and get her back to sleep. When I awoke I found that I had been covered up and sir was with out any blankets. He had put them on his girls so we would be warm. After a few hours on the floor I was very sore. But I do get where you are coming from there are times I want to remove Sir’s shoes when he gets home from work. We have talked and it is and I ask “May I” just that may I and if he is in the mood I get a yes if he is not I get a no. Because there times with his job that when he comes home it’s long enough to eat dinner and than he is back to work till the job is done. I love to sit at his feet at every chance I get or getting his coffee in the morning for him.
