Education is important for everyone -- submissive or dominant, educating oneself and developing the capacity to reason, think, consider, and create, as well as to cogently discuss concepts and examine ideas is crucial to good decision-making. Education does not necessarily require a formal school, nor does it necessarily require a college degree, though that is one of the easiest ways to obtain education. It is possible, though, to continue to educate oneself whether or not one attends school, and that is an individual responsibility that cannot be cast off or shirked, IMO. To me, a submissive or dominant individual who had no interest in educating hirself or expanding hir mind would be a poor fit for me and my household. I don't believe that it is a responsible option to ignore one's education in our current society, and choosing to do so is anathema to my mind.
