One thing`s for sure.

We won`t see the President make an aircraft carrier steam in circles(after a long deployment at sea) just to stage a photo op of him landing in a fighter jet, pose in a flight suit(w/ cod piece) and declare "mission accomplished",..... all pompous and blow-hardy.

No drama Obama!

Exactly.  Everyone's talking about the rescue itself, which was entirely due to the SEALs.  Obama's true mark was in the way he kept getting briefed and keeping everything under quiet control.  No "Bring it on" stupidity.

You point out a desireable character trait that Obama may have.  We had political clowns feel that they could micromanage the Vietnam war and see where that got us.  We saw Bush Sr. overrule his generals because he thought he knew better and prematurely ended the first Gulf War.  We went back.  Clinton claimed to know best when Bin Laden was in the sniper's sights and look what happened.  Bush Jr. let a political hack micromanage the war and we are still at it.  It would be refreshing having a president who knows he is not a military or espionage expert and therefore does not attempt to micromanage the military.  The US may actually prevail in something allowing its officers to make field decisions.

No servant, under the same circumstances....I would still be happy the good Captain gets to go home to his family.A pity you can not find it in yourself to judge the situation rather than the occupant of the Oval office...oh well, can't have everything.I get my pleasure out of having an intelligent man sitting in that chair.....you get to have your hate and frustration....I'm cool with that.
Ahhhh but you see slavemike...you are one of those who, if this VERY SAME SITUATION had been handled in the VERY SAME WAY by Bush rather than the OBAMESSIAH, would be up in arms against him.

I'll commend him for sitting back and letting smarter heads run the show...that shows common sense.  But there again, what else would you expect someone with absolutely zero military experience TO do?

One of two things happened here a) you didn't read my post and responded to my nick, rather than what I wrote...or b) you read my post and you are calling me a liar.
The beauty of the situation...is I don't really care which of those two took place.Water off a duck's ass....thanks for playing.

Oh....I've read your posts....enough to know that what I've stated is true.  For you and just about every other progressive praise-singer of the Obamessiah's handling of this situation.

For nearly every praise-singer, there's a detractor. Harmony is restaured, there is balance in the universe  .

PS: 'nearly' because, of course, there are more lovers than haters. Otherwise you wouldn't have lost the election, woudja  ?

Actually...there are more haters.  Those afflicted with the "i HATE Bush and everyone affiliated with him or anything approaching his beliefs" syndrome are after all the ones who elected the Obamessiah.

And please...don't sit there and play the "lovers' card...you've been one of the worst in espousing your hatred of all things that didn't fit your "world" view.  (ironic term, that).

You're blinded by your own hatred, this much is obvious: that's why you see hate where there is none.

You keep harping on "if Bush had done it" things would have been different. Except, we'll never know that. All we can do is pull examples of past performances, and extrapolate what would have happened:

1. Bush would have given the go ahead to shoot the pirates in the head. Pre-emptively. (i.e. blow the lifeboat out of the water... we don't negotiate with terrorists... you're either with us, or against us.)

2. Bush would have immediately taken full credit for the sniper fire/ bombardment, declaring that the "sniper mission was accomplished," and he'd do a photo op dressed as a navy seal.

3. He and Rove would have then begun a shadow campaign to discredit anyone who tried to tell the actual truth about the matter. Swift boating 12 year olds, and their families, or calling into question the patriotisim of verteran multi limb amputees, or "outing" intelligence opratives in a punative manner, would take place if needed.

4. Later, as the truth came out, Bush would blame the "sniper mission accomplished" banner in the photos on the support crew. Then deny ever having said those words, even though the video evidence is plastered all over You Tube.

5. Have the actual heroic snipers transferred to Iraq, and place them on IED duty. Allow their bodies to come back to the US in the wee hours of the morning, and don't allow any press to photograph their coffins as they are quietly buried, so as not to upset the American Sheeple.

Yeah, you're right. Bush WOULD have handled it differently.

I'm not blinded...I disagree with Obama and his policies.  I have no desire to watch him take us down the road to socialism.  That doesn't make me hate him.  He is certainly not whom I am tweaking when I address him as the Obamessiah.
On the other hand, care to go back and troll through your own posts regarding Bush or any ideal that is conservative in nature?  Care to read through your own "loving" words about the man?

Saying something is hatred when it is simply disagreement... stated in a calm, non-venomous manner...doesn't make it so.  Just as saying that you are full of love and have always been so...because your guy is in the White House and so you don't have to bring out those venom-laced spewings against Bush or conservative policies anymore...doesn't make it so.

I am happy with the way he handled this. I still think he is going to tax us into a grave, but I like this move.

I suppose those using cute little names like McSame and McFries and Chimp in Charge didn't show any partisanship or intense dislike. That was all in fun right? Funny how things change like that.

Owner I believe you are right, I dont usually use the  derogatory remarks like that, even tho I do think the chimp/bush facial similarities are uncanny.
Unfortunately I think that the Pres will have a lot more to deal with over the next while. However, I like what I see so far.

Actually, we don't need convincing of anything.  I've cited on here before the fact...and it is a fact, well covered by the Pugh Foundation and the Washington Post (both liberal institutions)...that Obama and his failings were given the most bend-over-backwards-to-be-fair coverage of any candidate ever.  Even the W. Post called themselves, as well as other media institutions on it.  Of course, they did this long after they'd helped him along his way to inauguration.

And tell me, lucy...while "Obamessiah" may be a derogatory term, it is at least reflective of the media-worship and throng-worship that surrounds this man.  It certainly is not indicative of hate or derision in the same way that ohhhhhhhhhh, I don't know, "retarded" is as applied to the ex-president, is it?

No...I am quite sure it doesn't burn near as much as using terms such as "retarded" does...but there again, tis a fact rather than name-calling.  I don't defend Bush for everything he did, unlike those of you who find a way to defend everything about Obama, from his choice of minister to the upholding of the first "black" president---raised by a white mother and white grandparents after the abandonment by his father.

You are right...it is my choice to believe in conservative principles...at least, it is my right for now.  We'll see how long those of us who are conservative are allowed to keep that what with the speech being thrown around by those within Obama's circle as to what to do about the "dangers of conservative thought".  But it's all politics, right?

Who`s defending Obama?

What is it that needs defending?

Doesn`t one need something to defend in the 1st place?

And what`s with the put upon act?lol

Who`s stopping conservatives from thinking or speaking out?

All you`ve done is call silly names and complain about something non-existent.

Which is just about spot on message, considering the GOP does nothing but name calling and complaining about things that don`t exist.

Everyone who voted for him...and that's as it should be.

Pick a policy...any policy.

quote:

True...and I guess he really hasn't got much other than the Saul Walinsky playbook, his friendship with Bill Ayers,  the Jeremy Wright interpretation of the bible and his support of the good reverend, and his Tax the Rich, Give a Tax Dividend...excuse me, cut... to those who've never even paid taxes Policy.

No one...yet.  Let's see whether or not the Fairness Doctrine goes into existence.

That's rich...coming from someone whose fellow believers have called a conservative president "monkeyboy" and "retard", and other conservatives "haters"...because they dare to disagree with Obama's views...on this thread.  The Democrats don't see things that are non-existent?  Would that include Hillary and Bill's fear of the "vast, right-wing conspiracy"?.  Mod 11 was right...this has gone way off-topic.
