I completely agree with this - Palin considered something, this alone doesn't make her an hypocrite - although many other things do. There are numerous reasons to dislike her and her politics, but this isn't one of them.

Completely understood and as it should be Holly...one question though no where in that post do I see a statement that indicates your beleif that others should not have that same freedom of choice.

59 is against murder. Palin is against abortion.

Is 59 an elected official,who would like to remove that freedom other woman now possess? If so 59 is a hypocrite...now I'm willing to give 59 the benefit of the doubt,but in Palin's case she has revealed too much about herself to get that benefit.

Mike...i know you never said that.

My feeling is..criticize her politics as much as you want. But please be gentle with calling her a hypocrite over this issue. You certainly could call her a hypocrite if she had aborted  and yet continued with her anti-abortion stance. But she had a thought, a fleeting thought, a way to avoid the heartbreak that a handicapped child can bring.

I cannot criticize her. All i can do is wish her well with her family.

There is the matter of that PAC she formed up there in Alaska.....that and cheering anti-choice crowds might just lead her to think she has a chance.
Personally I don't beleive the Republicans are that stupid.

Steven..it seems to be recommended for pregnant women over 40 yrs of age. There are many tests run with each amnio...Downs is only one. I have no clue what the others are.

many are gentic disorders a woman closer to menopause is likely to have downs mental retardation in any form xxx or xxy babies and the like most genitic disorders increase with age..

on the ohter hand even as a human if shes so against it why consider it. Im against people who dont do as they say... there are many medical reasons that arent just oh unwanted baby... that justify abortion. as well as reasons... like rape... would you honestly be able to raise your child if they were only there because you were rape... but the law isnt considering they might be killing people in their decisions. some women if they carry a child to term will be 90 percent likely to die... their law doesnt give wiggle room theyd be commiting murder to women because of their overzeaous beliefs...

and if the woman can even for a moment consider it even as a human or being in weakness then turn around and say that no one else might be able to have that choice to even THINK about it sounds alot like someone who almost gave in to getting one and the over zeaous is due to guilt.
