Holly I think the point he is making is that she had the choice. She was granted the choice to have that momentary thought, if she had decided to abort then she would have been 'allowed' to by law, making a choice. She made the choice to not avail herself of that law.

It is about being able to choose. Not being forced into one way or the other.

Camille....i disagree. The fleeting thought was not about politics or legality...it was about avoiding the heartbreak that a handicapped child could bring.

Look...take Palin out of politics and put her back into the 1950's before Roe vs Wade. Put her back when abortion was self induced with a coathanger. If she somehow became aware that the child she was carrying was handicapped, it is highly probable that for a fleeting instant she had the thought of ending the pregnancy.

Roe vs Wade did not give her the privilege of having that momentary fleeting thought.

This is the crux of it all. She does use her 'decision' as a political tool to further her beliefs.
I think this is where the disdain concerning this comes from.

Yup I am completely for keeping the choice available to women. If someone does not avail themselves of that choice, then fine. But at least they have the option.

The option cannot be taken away this late in the game. Medical advancement cannot be undone.

Anyone who considers stepping into the harsh glare of the spotlight needs to seriously consider the cost of their privacy and that of their family.  Especially now with all the instant communication and electronic snooping that goes on with the tabloid press.

See and this is another subject where I feel Strongly which is against most of the images posted agsinst Conservatives.

I am Pro-Choice, Because even the choice to have the child is a choice.

I do believe it should be regulated a little, for instance if you have a second abortion on State Assistance then part of the agreement for the medical assistance will be removal of the ability to have childen from that point.

Yes I believe that if you are so Irresponsible that you are stuck with having to make the decision to keep or not keep a child twice and require state assistance in order to make that choice then the choice will be taken away from you to have to make again.

I believe that any abortion should come with Mandatory Life Skills classes which must be completed satisfactorily before the final debt is paid.

However to remove the choice to be ABLE to measn that those who are Rape Impregnated, Those who are Failed Contraseptive Impregnated still have the ability to continue their life plan.

However If you do not learn from your Mistakes then no you are not responisble enough to make that choice and it will have been proved by the second state assisted abortion.

YES, as with any system there will be excpetions to this rule and some women will end up losing the ability to have children our of conditions beyond their own control with this idea, but I would rather that then what we currently have. My Own Mother has had three Abortions, she paid for all of them so she would not fall under this idea but she also knows how I feel about what has happened and why it took her three before something happened, although I agree that the Man has a responsibility to take care of his end I felt upset that three times this had to happen before people I know to be responsible people made a decision to stop it from happeneing again. However I have a neighbor who has no children because she has Aborted 6 times all 6 were covered under Medicaid which she got because she was pregnant and before actually getting the abortion in 2 cases she got her Teeth Fixed before the abortion in one and got one of her eyes fixed with the other.

It is the Abuse of the system I have a problem with. Adoptions can be a wonderful thing but they can also be a bad one as well, because many women aren't wanting to actually give up the child after it is born and go thorugh some life long depressions in the long run.

I would like to see all children be planned and LOVED, but I do not think anyone should be denied the choice to decide what will be best in the long run.

But Holly... Roe vs Wade let her have the option of deciding.
She could turn east or west because the sign was posted. She had the choice, the option. She could only consider abortion because the choice was there. She chose to have the child but she could have chosen abortion BECAUSE it is a choice a woman can make.

That power of choosing is what its all about.

I think whoever started this thread is unencumbered by the thought process.

First of all, this news is almost a year old.  The only reason to bring it up is because Obama is making such a fool of himself, travelling around the world apologizing for America.

Secondly, it was not really a story in the first place.  For someone to say they had a brief moment of doubt about their lifelong convictions is not news.  Everyone does.

Thirdly, anyone who supports the killing of an unborn child has not taken the time to study the issue from the biological, scientific, and constitutional perspectives.  Any sonogram proves the proabortion position to be an utter lie.

Pro Abortion?

I don't know anyone who is Pro Abortion .

"I want the women of america to get Pregnant and then Abort them because I am So FOR abortion that I want all women to have one."

I do know many people who don't want you making that choice for them, and so they are for being able to make their own choice.

Can you tell me ANYONE who calls themself Pro-Abortion ?

I mean ANYONE AT ALL, I hear that term being thrown around by the Pro Lifers a LOT but I still wonder who has ever called themselves a Pro Abortionist.

And for the women who would die if they had a child? Hell if a woman would bleed to death before the baby even reached a maturity in the womb to live outside of it? Is it Any more fair or more just or more right simply because the woman knows she wont survive to put her living breathing contributing to taxes life before the life of a blob thats inside of her only because birth control wasnt 100% effective?

Its sweet you think a fetus, something that is in essence a parasite until 27 weeks an unborn child. I think if it just like it is something that cant live with out a host. A baby born 4 weeks old, 6 weeks old 10 weeks old wont survive on its own. Someone who will die in those 10 weeks due to medical issues, well its kind of like a pointless death.

Im pro choice why because i should have the choice of wither i wish to live or wither i wish to die. Making abortions illeal would be murdering about 20 thousand women in america who suffer from the same condition that cuases their body not to react to its cycle. Meaning illegalizing abortion would be legalizing murder... at least in the cases of the 20 thousand women who would die if they would get pregnant. and if murder is legal in this case it pushes the precident for others to make murder legal in other was.

Its sweet its niave to think something that will die on its own a child. but the point and case it its not believe it if you will but ill give you a 4 week old fetus a 6 week old fetus a 10 week old fetus outside the womb of its mother... and you know what... there will be one common factor they will all be dead...
