As a pro femdomme, I am used to peaks and valleys when it comes to booking sessions and receiving tribute. However, as of late, business has come to a dead halt. In a period of two weeks, I have booked more than sixteen newcomers and have had a total of zero show up! Some are considerate enough to call with whatever excuse they can fumble out. Most are never heard from again. What's a domme to do?? I have stringent cancellation and confirmation policies in place. I have an excellent record of timeliness and service. I know a lot of pro dommes take a deposit up fron but I am afraid of the effect this drastic step might have on business. I don't know what to do. Any advice you might have would be incredibly helpful.

Afraid I have no advice missnoir. Unfortunately your profession is in a legal grey area in many locations. As such when they have cold feet they don't think about their affect on you. I tend to view a relationship with a Pro Domme to be somewhere between dating and seeing a doctor (or other professional). I like to think I wouldn't skip out on either without a call, but accidents happen.

I wish you better luck in the future tho.

Well based on the last two weeks as You have described them, any deposit(s) acquired would have resulted in a better net position for You. Perhaps You might consider deposits from "new" first-time bookings only?

Not calling to cancel or reschedule is rudeness, no matter the reason <excuse> for it.

One thing is for sure ... these boys <and girls?> are obviously in "need" of some good training.

No matter what ... if building this business is your dream - DO NOT GIVE UP Most any start-up <assumed by me> is fraught with ups and downs, plans never realized, and unexpected obstacles. The ones who succeed are those same ones who endeavor to overcome until the end. This one realizes that there needs to be constant gauging and adjusting to the business plan in order to best insure arrival at the desired destination

Well Personally i think it is just plain rudeness !!

Even if they have changed thier mind for whatever reason they at least should show common courtesy and call to cancel !!

I do not have any advice, but if you have none already have you thought of offering to take on "trainee slaves" who may pay "tribute" and offer personal servitude as well ??

Just a thought ![;)]

While you may not want to do it, I think financially you may have to have a deposit policy.

I don't know, but do you accept credit cards? Say they have to leave the information with you and a canceled or missed session will be charged at %50 or something like that.

I'm betting that if they had to lose money you'd at least hear from them about canceling an appointment.

Without a signature it's not a valid transaction. I lost a good deal of money by people buying from Diversified Services and then claiming they never placed the order. Without a signature the credit card companies always found in their favor even if I had a UPS delivery confirmation. Once more, when this "chargeback" happens, it goes as a black mark on the seller's record and too many mean you lose your ability to accept credit cards.

my 1st Ms--the pro domme--asked for 1/2 up front or dont bother.

GoddessDustyGold -> RE: Cold Feet or Common Rudeness (2/2/2006 6:37:03 PM)

First time clients are met first, for lunch, dinner or even just coffee. They also show ID. And so do I. Initial contract for professional services, along with release and any special notations is signed. Session is booked then or, if preferred, booked at a later date. However, all first time clients pay 1/2 up front. Cash. No refunds if they are a no-show. They only need to pay their second half when they show up. If some sort of emergency arises, and you do get a cancellation call, you may wish to allow one reschedule.
It might turn away a limited amount of business, but that is preferable to getting all ready and then having them not show up at all, isn't it?
I know of other Professional who do this. I have done it. When I have not, guess what happens?
So I don't break My own rules. For anyone.
Hope this helps.

This is why I have to laugh when male subs who think they're so intelligent about the pro femdoms scene come on and bitch when they calculate how much money they think a pro femdom must make. These geniuses calculate the femdoms hourly wage x 40 hrs a week x 52 weeks a year, or some other gross miscalculation.

Never do they take into consideration the number of no shows or the cost of running a business. They just see the $200/hr. fee and their head explodes with resentment and jealousy.

Rockford made $200 a day plus expenses in the early seventies, and that poor bastard lived in a TRAILER.

Yeah, life's a bitch.

EVERYONE LISTEN UP --- let's pass the hat around for the poor, poor PROs and their rude, rude no shows.

well first and foremost this is a business. its a cold thing to say but welcome to the business world. this is the way it is, not only for you but for all businesses. the best thing to do is not miss any local meetings, show off a hot sub at them, do seminars that teach, munches are all guys looking, if yo uhave a dungeon have dungeon parties. aside from that welcome to business what can i say.

my bitch isnt that pros exist, like hookers they would not exist if the demand was not there, so the guys that use them are equally guilty, my bitch is that i cannot advertize my business for free on here or any other site, however these women can. that and their profiles are in with everyone elses and they give us no filter for it because i do not want to read even one of them yet i am forced to while surfing due to this setup

This is a FREE site.
Set up your own site and make all the filters you want.
Until then, stop whining.
