Sorry, I accidentally made a post and I can't delete it! lol

Coupleofwhats -> Advice from Another Pro... (6/30/2008 6:45:39 AM)

Summer is usually the worst time of year: less calls and more no-shows than usual. I find that, besides your regulars, the tourists are what make up for the change in climate. (Guys come into town and book the pricier outcall sessions at their hotel. Or they book longer/multiple sessions because it's their one chance to see you before heading home.)

I don't know how long you've been in business or if it's your full-time gig... but unless you have a solid client base or another primary source of income, you'd be shooting yourself in the foot by requiring deposits. Most guys just won't do it, and they'll move on to the next person.

My advice would be to not show up at the studio until after they've confirmed the appointment with you. I require that they call me two hours before the set time: during that phonecall, I give them the studio address. The vast majority of men who aren't going to show up don't bother with the confirmation call. (So if someone else calls for the abdicated timeslot, I can make plans with them instead.)

Dear Ms Noir,

I understand your pain and problems. In my life i had the honor of being close friend to few well established proDommes, mostly on east coast. No, subs dont understand what it takes to make a good 1 hour session. From mental preparation, room preparation, to the simple choosing the outfit. It can take up to 10 hours. Is 200.00 high price then? But then who gives sub a right to talk about price. Do you guys go to your doc or lawyer discussing his fees? Next time sears guy comes over just tell him "here is $50, i think that would be fair price".

But being on the other side of the crop, i have noticed something else. Everyone can be proDomme, and lately is. I know it sounds harsh, but it is. Being proDomme is long term commitment, to scarify most intimate part of your life to help sub male achieve their fantasies with certain financial gain. And then there is growing population of "ok i got boots and $9.99 whip, now lets take few pict with my phone, and i will post something (usually something like "want U to kiss my heals",or "i am dominate"). Noone can tell who is true proDomme and who is just willing to put on pair of boots to make few bucks. Advertising on personals doesnt usually help. Why not invest in good website, few profesional pictures, or at least creative.

Back to original post. Yes deposit would be solution. Well, we all have right to be "cold feet" but in todays world we need to pay price of it. You give deposit when you rent a car, buy a house, rent an apartment, fent a pair of skis, why wouldnt you do the same when you book a session. Paypal should be safe, but can you need a po box.

I agree that there are plenty of people out there with absolutely no interest in the scene or talent as a domme. But I think they're pretty easy to spot most of the time. Generally, if it looks like they're posing on their (usually unmade) bed while holding a camera over their head... they're not the most serious. Particularly if they're in a major city: plenty of semi-pro to professional photographers will shoot you for free.

From my end of the crop, there are just as many subs who aren't serious, and are just trying to find someone who will allow them to "worship" their intimate body parts for a fraction of an escort's price. (Really. I get calls everyday asking for an hour of "body worship" and/or facesitting.) So... I guess that solves the mystery of who sessions with the cheap boots and novelty whip ladies. :-)

Just FYI: except for this page, all the other posts on this thread are more than two years old.  To have a conversation with people who are currently around, it might make more sense to start a new thread.

Hello my little pretty.[;)]
I love to read what you write, and I wish you would post more often.
Be that as it may, do you read what many of the "submissive" men write around here?
Read the last 20 or so posts on here from our "submissive males", NO read the last 100 posts to make it fair!
Make sure you count all the "forced cocksucking, forced bi, forced cd, and forced cum swallowing threads".

Read only the threads started by a "submissive male".
Then, you can see a few of them are thinking.

A retired from business pro femdom of my acquaintance gives the example of her means of assessing potential clients. She would set up a meeting for lunch or dinner at a restaurant, they'd meet and discuss matters and get to know each other a bit over the meal, and "if I so much as had to make a motion toward picking up the tab"—that was a client she would not accept. She considered it an infallible sign of money trouble with the client.

Missnoir,
i have seen someone a couple of times and have no problem paying a deposit. i do it thru paypal. i don't think it is unreasonable to ask for it and bottom line, as someone else said, it couldn't be worse.

It sounds like a dry spell with some extra garbage thrown in.

People are rude enough not to show up or cancel appointments in all kinds of venues.  That is just one of the nasty facts of sales.

Good luck

CinnamonBrandy -> RE: Cold Feet or Common Rudeness (7/2/2008 1:00:32 PM)

Like Goddess Dusty Gold, I too charge 1/2 session fee as a deposit to confirm the appt. Here's what I do:  First go online and order yourself a Green Dot Card- www.greendotonline.com  Once your card comes in and someone wants to schedule an appt., I direct him or her to go to Wal Mart, Rite Aid, CVS Pharmacy, Ralphs or Radio Shack and go to the reloadable card section.  He is to get a Green Dot Money Pak and go to the cashier and put $100 (half my session) on it.  The cashier will then give him or her a receipt with a 14-20 digit code.  He or she will then email, text, or call me by the appointed time and I will then go online with the code and load the money onto my card.  When the transaction goes through, I call, email, or text to confirm and THEN we discuss time/date/place.  The deposit is non-refundable to my client, and it sure saves me from the no shows, since they don't deposit by a certain time, forget it.  I used to not have this card and system in place and be actually ON THE PHONE driving a half  hour only to have him be unreachable and not show up or call.  Waste of my time and gas.  And this is better than PayPal since PayPal will take your money and cancel your account if they get wind of thinking you are running an adult business.

As far as clients, I too have noticed a SIGNIFICANT change in calls and requests...maybe everyone is on vacation with the kids but to go to almost NO sessions for the month of June, a few calls but no shows...

Lynnxz -> RE: Cold Feet or Common Rudeness (7/2/2008 1:19:11 PM)

I'm glad I'm not the only one having a slow month. :-/

MatinaNemesis -> RE: Cold Feet or Common Rudeness (7/9/2008 2:21:59 PM)

You could always reserve their booking day/time for  a few days in order for them to send a deposit ( to a box address ) Once it arrives, you mail them and set up the appointment, if they dont show they loose their deposit.
