This thing about pretty words can work both ways though. No doubt many of us have fallen for flattery, only to have it spring back in our face like a wet fish. ( Not actually had a wet fish hit me in the face but im hoping..lol ) My point is, if we are wary of every compliment or nice comment we get, are we not putting barriers in the way of meeting someone genuine ?

Anytime we do one thing exclusivily, we run the risk of being in error.  Major error! lol  That is why it is nice to see such a huge difference in the sincere and insincere!  Makes it easy to know! lol  Just a lil time and all is made known! lol

I'm pretty sure that if I wanted to bullshit my way into someone's heart by using the pretty words, I could, but I only use my powers for good. When I compliment someone or use them there pretty words on them, they'll know that I'm sincere, or at least if they know me at all they should.

I think I tend to suffer from the opposite behavior of the pretty words dilemma. I'm very much not a fan of insincerity and because of that I avoid making comments that seem generated more for vanity than for necessity. I tend to think that a beautiful woman is probably going to hear from people that she's beautiful all of the time, so repeating it myself makes me feel like I'm acting like a cad rather than sincere. So I tend to avoid the behavior. This ends up backfiring on me because every now and then I'll be asked why I never compliment her, when I've always felt that my sincere pledge of service (and the fact that I constantly show up on time and work as hard as I can to please her in all ways) says a lot of what those pretty words only suggest. I've never really found a good balance between the two (one of the difficulties I still find in relationships), but a few times I managed to be pledged to a woman who seemed to just understand, and everything went very well. Wish I could say that was the norm, however.

I like the one's that tell me how gorgeous and beautiful I am, and I have no
picture up!

I ask them, how they know since I have no picture posted.

They tell me they just know it.

A few months ago, I decided that, while I might approach a variety of women for play, in terms of pursuing something potentially serious, I was only going to flirt with dominant women fairly close to my own age.  So I've been writing to femdoms on this site, and I'm getting nearly a 100% response rate.  Sometimes these responses are a version of "thanks but no thanks," but it looks as though I'm developing a few new friends at the very least.

I don't have much info on my profile here, and that doesn't seem necessary.  Pretty much what I've been doing is I read either a post or journal entry that intrigues me, and then I write her and say a few things about her post or journal entry.  Usually I don't mention her pics at all.  The lady's message back to me is often a version of, "Wow, it's nice to have a real conversation with someone for a change."

I think it's important that I'm writing about journal entries and not profile text, or photos.  It makes me stand out immediately.  So I could recommend to men who feel as though they are lost in the crowded inbox that they write sweet/sincere words, but about her mind and thoughts, not her body.

(arms crossed, tapping foot)  How many femdoms?

Lockit, your thread is getting me in trouble.

I can see the conversation now...

Lockit: Oh, calm down, BSB, RedMagic is a gem.
BSB: Yeah, he's a gem all right.  Gem spelled "h-o-r-n-d-o-g."

I tried this approach! Here is what I wrote:

Hi! I write to let you know I really enjoyed reading your journal entry! It is clearly one of the best entries I have ever read. I found it to be concise and articulate; it conveys what you mean exactly so efficiently in such few words! I think you have a few copycats who were equally impressed by your entry, for I have seen a few other profiles that contain your entry either in the profile or in the journal entry word for word.

In case you have added any other journal entries since I read your profile, the one that I refer to is the one that reads, "NO MEN!!!!!"

I think the large red font immediately captures the eye. I must commend your insights about how visual presentation can affect the effectiveness of delivering a message. And I think the five exclamation marks carry feeling and convey that the message comes from the heart.

Anyway, I am sure you have lots of photos in your profile. I am not sure, I didn't look. I am not the least interested in them. The hair you have so immaculately dressed could very well be a stack of hay as far as I am concerned. I am only interested in moving in and serving you. Now that we have got this introduction out of the way, when would you like for me to move in?

Oh, and please don't worry that I am a man. I am willing to get a sex-change for you and forever abandon my maleness and everything. I even plan to throw away my stash of porn.

I look forward to your response.

Soon to be Seaette

ps. RedMagic1, I wrote this post in spirit of silliness without any intention to be sarcastic ;-)

My birthday is May 19th for anybody wondering.  It's now May 19th in South Florida -- which is where I'd *really* like to be right now, because someone needs a spanking, and I don't care which of us ends up spanking the other, as long as it lasts a long time.

Totally seriously, I think I've posted too many times on an Ask A Mistress thread.  This isn't P&RS, this thread is not about me, and I won't post further here.  I do appreciate the birthday wishes though, thank you.

Yanno, call me a cynical old cow but for me......I really don't care if all the pretty words stop cold.

Action, deeds, follow through, that's what matters to me at this point in life. The stuff that takes real work and effort.
I agree that the actions need to either speak for themselves, or they need to at least match the words.   However, I don't think I'd be happy with someone who didn't express emotions/thoughts about me/us with words on regular occasions.

I am not one who is happy with a relationship that is positive for all intents and purposes, but unfullfilling emotionally.   But in order for me to be loved the right way, I do like a pretty word here and there...   In fact, missing pretty words, will turn me into a cold bitch in a fairly short amount of time...  Okay maybe not so short, if he's cute and hot in the sack, but I reserve the right to be inconsistent on occasion as desires go.    M

P.S.    Are you trying to share some of your less common kinks with us?
