My co-workers have recently decided to torture me by forcing me to listen to Barry Manilow daily (and Kenny G) and it's permeated into my dreams as well...i loathe them.

Do they wear stilettos? [8|]
who? Barry Manilow and Kenny G?

purepleasure -> RE: Should I ask Her if She is a Domme (5/25/2009 12:05:19 PM)

Barry Manilow is a maybe.  He's been known to wear shoes with heels.

The jury is out on Kenny G.

Oh for God's sake, don't make it worse.

see...here's my problem. I have no problem picturing Barry Manilow in stiletto's...but i can't see him dressing in anything but light blue (with rhinestones). Now Kenny, on the other hand...black all the way...but no stiletto's.

I am so confused here. What the hell was this thread about?

i don't wear them because i can't run in them, i did once in school during my clinicals and i went down hard on the linoleum in the halls (didn't hurt much except my ego)...now it's sneakers. i still wear the scrubs though....i'm still waiting for the day i fall down the stairs in front of everyone though. It's gonna suck.

subtlebutterfly -> RE: Should I ask Her if She is a Domme (5/25/2009 12:53:28 PM)

they were banned because of the open areas on the top of the shoes. I think they are permitted to be worn again, though i am not sure.

And don't feel bad. I think that each of us has tahen a tumble at least once...it is the nature of the job.

Once i was wearing sandals and chatting on the phone (i had a tough job!). Without realizing it i had woven the phone cord in between my toes...and a code was called. I got up to run with the rest and went ass over tin cup...right into a rolling crash cart.
I broke three toes and had a huge gash on my head from the cart.
Never did asst with the code.

Aylee -> RE: Should I ask Her if She is a Domme (5/25/2009 3:45:15 PM)

Umm. . . is it just me or does the "Well she was wearing stilletos and a leather skirt meant that she was asking for me to rummage into her personal life" remind anyone else of the "She was wearing a mini-skirt so she was just asking to be raped?"

Lady Pact, please dont take this personally, but i would not like to work to You. Your philosophy on what is acceptable is not mine. i think people should be more tolerant. for me employment is way too strict now . Not to mention the fact that the boss when She was an employee got a much easier ride. i know this because i was told this by my rep

I don't take it personally at all.  I find it to be a compliment.  In fact, you probably wouldn't work for Me for very long.

Before doing what I do now, I was an on-site temp coordinator.  Some days, everybody who wanted to could work.  When there weren't as many people needed, I would pick the people who would work the best and they were the ones that got the hours for that particular shift.  I always told folks that the easier they made My job being their boss, the more likely they would work.  That wasn't just the ability to perform the job.  It also had to do with things about did I have to chase them down because they didn't come back from break on time or did they have difficulties with the other employees.  They could be the fastest person in the department, but if I was having to listen to complaints about them, I'd rather have someone slower who didn't make waves.  People who would be on time, work the whole shift when they took the slot, and didn't have problems with other associates.  My motto back then was, they don't pay Me to be a babysitter.  They pay Me to supervise adults.

For the record, I have fired people for sexual harassment, tardiness, theft, non-compliance, quality control, and a dozen other things.  When people can't be up to standard in the workplace, that's how it should be.  Having a job isn't a right, it's a privilege.  If a person can respect the rules of the workplace, there is always someone out there who will.

and here's the lead-up to the next whine fest "I cant find a job.. I cant meet anyone because I dont have any money because I cant find a job"

Seriously, kevin..  grow up.   A job is NOT ABOUT YOU unless you happen to own the company, and even then, it's about the clients.  So what if she had it easier than you feel you do.. from the sounds of it she is much more productive than you are.

Vendaval -> RE: Should I ask Her if She is a Domme (5/26/2009 1:37:02 AM)

Ask for a pair of her used pantyhose or underwear.  That is always a good ice-breaker to use in the office.

lobodomslavery -> RE: Should I ask Her if She is a Domme (5/26/2009 1:49:25 AM)

im sorry i raised it at all now. i m just glad im with a group who is more understaning of my issues in Dublin. they dont stigmatise me because of im out of work or because of my depression which they know about. No they dont judge at all which is great. But then some have to judge and that is their entitlement. Wouldnt the world be crazy if everyone was tolerant as well as mind bogglingly boring
