The all-black sartorial crowd are doing us rainbow-addicted attention whores a favor. I love how all the black frames my colorfully-clad self at BDSM functions. I'm the one in pink & orange & red, hehehe . . ... .

I keep seeing at meetings and in the pics on the site black t-shirts and other attire for dom(mes). Does it have some special significance or something?

Its slimming, easy to match and doesnt show stains if I happen to drop something on myself. Domme does not = neat, after all. And in several of my photos , I am in purple.

For me, I wear primarily black for several reasons:

One, it works for my coloring, according to an ex who was in fashion. That was eight years ago and it's always stuck.

Two, I have no fashion sense... hence, when I buy clothes they have to match every possible combination I have- so it's a vicious circle where very little new color is introduced.

Three, it's slightly slimming. This isn't that important, but hey, doesn't hurt.

Fourth, duh, I'm a bad ass. Hasn't TV taught you anything?

One of those was a joke. I leave it to the reader to determine which.

Ditto.  At Red's birthday bash, I was the one in the sparkly purple dress who looked like she was going to the 8th grade dance.

My favorite attire is "anti-goth": typical goth/industrial clothing, but all gleaming white. I look like a lightbulb under blacklights...

um..pics?

Red and trapped.. *smmmoooooooooooches*

and you both were absolutely NOMNOM-able.....

I also agree with IrishMist.. all white would look great :)

Of course, I could never pull it off... I have two cats.  NOt to mention that when I wear white is going to be when my car goes wonky and I have to do something under the hood... never fails.

That's the one problem I have with my black attire... I also have kittybeasts, that LOVE to get their gold and white furs alllll over my black clothes.  Little shitheads.  In some ways I'm lazy, in others I'm extremely fastidious.  I swear I keep 3M in business just from buying their lint rollers...

iz owned by kittehs, too...one gray and two redish/blonde....cringe. Removed one problem by getting a black leather couch and two chairs..*L*..unfortunately - no door on the walk in closet - and where do they always chose to sleep? On the darker colors..even though they are harder to get to!

i love black - stylish - easy to match with anything and everything - i am fair skinned and blonde - hehe - and i feel at home in black - in every enviroment...(well..except weddings...black is a no no)...my closet is a color explosion, though - i have every possible shade and color in there...a lot of impulse buys...lol - that ONE item of clothing that does not match with anything else...but maybe jeans....tinkerbell t-shirt - winnie the pooh, even...i don't care...i wear what i feel ok in...my former rt Master - i will never forget when we were going out to dinner, and i held up two items of clothing. One was in dark yellow with colorful flowers all over (one piece pants  and top - shoulder straps - waffle seem around the waist - wide pants...i LOVED that one...)and another same type one piece - in dark blue with tiny polkadots.....he just started and stuttered COLOR EXPLOSION - and pointed to the dark blue one..(chicken)...LOL..

so - black is always good - colors are more fun..hehe

A friend rang me an hour or so ago and this subject cropped up. His comment to me was to ask why I wear almost exclusively black without writing a book about it. This was my reply:
"I wear black because I can and because it pleases me to do so!"

I could have added of course that my family is the majority shareholder of the company which makes the duct tape which I use in copious quantities to remove the dog hair off my black clothes ere I leave the house too.. However that is an aside and has no bearing on my choice of clothes or colours,

My wardrobe is 99% black and there are a number of reasons for it being so.... not one of those reasons is about Me being a Dominant!

Like many Guys I am red/green deficient. The colour I see is likely not to be the colour others see... black is black is black... Black doesn't clash with black and I look damn good in it, always have. When I wear a shirt that isn't black, everything else I have works with it because black goes with everything.

Also I hate shopping, I can buy an entire new wardrobe in 20 minutes. Find a style of shirt I like... get 6 in black, a style of jeans I like..... get 4 in black. a dozen plain black T-shirts, a couple of packs of black socks and a stylish pair of black boots..... and home I go!
