Also I hate shopping, I can buy an entire new wardrobe in 20 minutes. Find a style of shirt I like... get 6 in black, a style of jeans I like..... get 4 in black. a dozen plain black T-shirts, a couple of packs of black socks and a stylish pair of black boots..... and home I go!

I look better in black. No special significance for me.

If I show up at the closest fetish venue to me dressed like I am ready for a round of golf I will be denied admission. If I show up dressed in black I am warmly welcomed. That is why you see a sea of black.

ACTually, I have seen black clash with black. Not all blacks are created equal. Being dressed head to toe in black when one item has been washed a few more times than another, just looks lame.......

Of course that well washed slightly faded black shirt worn with black jeans obviously not brand new and clean but slightly scuffed black boots and if the male physiognomy is a little weathered the whole picture could be that of a Journeyman Dominant yet to attain his Mastership. Obviously new black attire can look like the items are just off the shelf and so without personality or they can demonstrate sartorial elegance of one who knows how to wear clothes well without being conscious of them as one may expect from a Man established in his own Mastery, power and self control.  The clothes (whatever the hue) maketh not the Man but rather the man maketh the clothes.

Because:
a) everyone looks good in black leather
b) most of the time, its all that is on the rack come shopping time

I strongly disagree.

Ohhhh I missed that one!

Very few people actually look good in black leather pants. Very very few.

Or, they think that because it is a fetish event, they are given license to wear leather clothing four sizes too small. Fat oozing from every opening in your clothing, like a badly wrapped sausage, is not nice.

Many adults turn to black clothing for simplicity's sake once they grow out of garanimals.

Fast Reply:  Black attire is required at a lot of clubs, if you aren't going to wear a costume or fetish-wear, and black is also one of the few colors that most corsets and other items always come in.

I agree, with this post and your subsequent one.

This subject reminds me of a boss I once had - a VP of Finance.  She wore black every day, head to toe, and had flaming red short hair.  It was really a marvel to see - she really pulled it off.

Then came Halloween and she wore all white.  She came as the opposite of herself.  Loved it.

Because I have red hair almost long enough to sit on, and very pale skin, and black sets it off nicely.

I wear black because I like it.  It isn't about looking more Dom, it's really about liking the ease of care, goes with anything, always classy, etc of black.  There is no other color that is so widely accepted in so many different venues.

I think the only thing that wouldn't scream cat, dog, horse...for me, would be some really obnoxious jungle print.

Red dog
Gold and black dog
gray and white cat
rose gray horse
fleabit gray horse

I've pretty much got no chance.
