That's... not really the smartest of come backs.

You could say that about anything.

"Joe R was never convicted of rape. Nobody can say for sure if he ever raped anybody".
"Except his victim"

What does that even mean? It's pretty stupid.

Michael Jackson was never found guilty.

The kids could be mistaken, they could have been manipulated by their parents, there are any number of possibilities.

Speculating about it however is pointless.

KaineD -> RE: Michael Jackson taken to the hospital (6/25/2009 4:55:50 PM)

I mean, I've served on a jury before. I know that I would require much more than the testimony of the victim to come to a guilty verdict.

...I have mixed feelings about his passing, having lived in Santa Barbara County for many years and witnessed the side show of the most recent trial on the evening news...

quite true, Vendeval.  sharing a "backyard" with him when he lived at Neverland was pretty wierd...

over the years he was running Neverland, this slave met a lot of people that worked for him in some capacity...
before his arrest and trial, this slave had the opportunity to petition him to help out the youngones in his own community on behalf of a rural school with limited funds and a broken down bus.  there was no response from him or his camp.
he did very little to endear himself to the local community he lived in.  it was quite a suprise to learn they found 12 people in Santa Maria who hadn't either worked for him or had a family member or friend that did.

Level -> RE: Michael Jackson taken to the hospital (6/25/2009 4:57:23 PM)

I do believe in "innocent until proven guilty", but there's no way in hell I'd have left him in a situation where something could happen. Dude had issues.

It does make you wonder though why he paid millions to the families of children that were close to him.

And it makes you wonder why those families took that money.

Like I said, speculation is pointless. None of us here are sure about his guilt or innocence either way.

Yep, cardiac arrest.

It couldn't have happened to a more deserving bloke.
He used his money and celebrity status to stay out of jail/asylum.  He should have been locked away and the key not only thrown away but melted down.

I'm sure a great number of people would like to return to a childhood from time to time but we do it through healthy means - spending time with our own kids, not sharing beds with them and certainly not with other people's!

I for one won't shed any tears for someone like that.

LadySweetOrSour -> RE: Michael Jackson taken to the hospital (6/25/2009 5:01:23 PM)

We all have an opinion, please allow us ours.

I never liked him. I'm not glad he's dead. His kids will be upset, others will be upset, and that's sad.

DomKen -> RE: Michael Jackson taken to the hospital (6/25/2009 5:02:29 PM)

He settled with at least one child. No one who is innocent of that sort of thing settles. Can anyone honestly say they would settle a lawsuit accusing them of such?

Although he did admit to sleeping with kids in an interview with Martin Bashir.

But you can flip that question onto the family.

If your child had really been raped or molested, would you settle out of court?

He desperately wanted to BE a child again, not f*ck one.

I propose to you a similar question you asked others : Do you believe everything his defense attorney and armchair phychologist friends tell the media? You gleened that info from the same media you condemn others for.

Having said that...
I believe he was a seriously mentally ill person and be it not for his fame and wealth he would have been commited, had his children removed from his care. This outcome was as predictable as Anna Nicole, and parralled her life. IMO.

I guess there is no solid evidence that he did commit the acts many children accused him of. Since they all recinded and hushed up when their family got a tidy sum of cha ching from MJ. However, it would be a pretty logical conclusion to believe he did do the acts he was accused of.

I personally will not speak ill of the dead. Whatever MJ did, he now stands before God in judgement. That is as it should be. It's not for me to judge. And none of us know if he sought forgiveness and salvation in the last years of his life. That is between him and God. Again, my belief. I understand others do not share that. No need to get into a debate about it.

My only hope is for his children who are the victims here. I hope that they will get counciling, be given to a healthy and sound person. And that they are allowed to fade into aninimity, until they are of the age and mindset to chose for themselves. The damage done to them thus far is irreparable, but perhaps can be normalized to some degree.

Lockit -> RE: Michael Jackson taken to the hospital (6/25/2009 5:04:42 PM)

Phil Spector was amazing too... until he turned murderer.  OJ was great and even got off the most serious crimes, but was great at football.  The bottom line is not how wonderful and amazing some emotionally fucked up person was... but the things they left in shattered lives... no matter how they paid off their debt or didn't.

An innocent man caught being nice to needy um's one time does not continue to do the same thing twice getting caught again.  He does everything he can to not give the appearance of evil.  He proves himself.  A guilty man with something to be ashamed of continues his complusion and puts himself in a position to be questioned again.  Having a talent or enough money to buy yourself into or out of things doesn't prove innocence any more than guilt.  It is your actions that prove something.

Anyone that messed up needs to seek help and if they don't get it when they have the means to, proves they didn't care to change and heal.  There is such an ego that thinks they have some higher standing that allows them to do what they want and to get away with what they want.  Sooner or later... it catches up to you.  What happens to personal accountablity?  The wounded or messed up don't have to have any?

To get my kid therapy and keep him from more trauma from having to testify in court? Maybe.

He didn't admit to having sex with them or molesting them. Sharing a bed is much different to molesting a child, for cryin' out loud.

Lockit -> RE: Michael Jackson taken to the hospital (6/25/2009 5:08:47 PM)

Sharing an innocent bed with anyone isn't a bad thing... but how smart is it to repeatedly do it when you have been accused of a horrendous crime?

Oddly enough, he avoided that question.  His body language said it all.
Perhaps it's me but your comment comes across as you condoning his actions.

Logically, couldn't MJ have had a similar reason? He more than likely wanted to avoid lenghty court battles because of his deteriorating health?

I've said it once and I'll say it again (though I suspect people will continue anyway) speculation is utterly and completely pointless.

Can anyone here say they know without a shadow of a doubt that Michael Jackson was guilty of the things he was accused of?
