Oddly enough, he avoided that question.  His body language said it all.
Perhaps it's me but your comment comes across as you condoning his actions.

Uh... what?

I'm just being logical and unbiased.

In a court of law, you don't convict someone because of body language. Body language can mean anything.

How is me saying "we don't know if he is guilty" equivalent to condoning the actions of what you presume to be a guilty man?

I sincerely hope you never serve in a jury, lest the accused twitches in his seat the wrong way.

Vendaval -> RE: Michael Jackson taken to the hospital (6/25/2009 5:13:49 PM)

I met quite a few people who had worked on the ranch too. He was not well liked by many people. But if he came to the Santa Maria mall it was a media event and security situation.

quite true, Vendeval.  sharing a "backyard" with him when he lived at Neverland was pretty wierd...

over the years he was running Neverland, this slave met a lot of people that worked for him in some capacity...
before his arrest and trial, this slave had the opportunity to petition him to help out the youngones in his own community on behalf of a rural school with limited funds and a broken down bus.  there was no response from him or his camp.
he did very little to endear himself to the local community he lived in.  it was quite a suprise to learn they found 12 people in Santa Maria who hadn't either worked for him or had a family member or friend that did.

Unfortunately that's not the only thing he touched.

Unfortunately indeed.

About the time I respect OJ... I will respect MJ.

I had a umhood stolen, I did not steal others or need to be a um.  No, I wasn't famous and no I wasn't rich and no I didn't grow up like he did... but as far as I am concerned, those are excuses! I will not think... poor MJ...

I shall never respect anyone who is damaged and allows themselves freedom to continue to live damaged rather than healed.  He has no excuse.

It does make you wonder though why he paid millions to the families of children that were close to him.

Butch

And it makes you wonder why those families took that money.

Like I said, speculation is pointless. None of us here are sure about his guilt or innocence either way.

Yea, I have always wondered about that also. It just didn't make sense. I have always felt he was innocent, but like you said, no one can say for sure. I have always liked him as an entertainer and I think he was a musical genius. It feels strange to think that he is dead. He has been around since I was a very small child and I have watched him grow from a little boy into manhood. There were things about him that I thought were really weird, but I am sure there are people who feel the same way about my lifestyle also.

Body language can mean anything.

Like "Oh shit, I've been rumbled".
He still should have been placed on the sex offenders register simply for sleeping with the kids.  Sure we can read in to his body language as much as we want and draw our own conclusions from it.  The fact is he admitted to sleeping with kids and avoided the question of molesting them.  IMHO 'the fifth' as the US calls it should not apply to sick people like him.

He settled with at least one child. No one who is innocent of that sort of thing settles. Can anyone honestly say they would settle a lawsuit accusing them of such?

If I was on his side of the charges and I thought I might be found guilty even though I was innocent then I would settle. If I was on the other side and it had been my child that was abused there is NO WAY IN HELL that I would settle.

Can you honestly say you would settle if it was your child?

One more thing I'll say before I go is, some of you are coming at this with minds that have already been made up, from a very judgemental point of view.

"He had a very unusual lifestyle, he liked hanging out with children, so there must be SOMETHING to the accusations".

Just imagine how it would look if one of you ended up in court charged with a serious crime.

I'll take myself as an example.

Say I was falsely accused of rape. They take my computer, and find that I fantasize about rape, I've written fictional scenarios about it, I've got porn with a rape theme.

Imagine a small minded jury that didn't understand that there are many healthy people that fantasize and consensually carry out these kinds of scenarios.

I would be screwed. No one would believe me.

I like hanging out with um's too but if accused of something like that I sure as fuck wouldn't do it again!  Actions speak very loudly.  Have you ever been in a court room where a rape case was being held???

I must admit I thought he was guilty long before he admitted his sick ways on television.

Michael Jackson was never found guilty.

Although he did admit to sleeping with kids in an interview with Martin Bashir.

He didn't admit to having sex with them or molesting them. Sharing a bed is much different to molesting a child, for cryin' out loud.
a grown man does not share his bed with adolescent boys on a regular basis, after giving them wine, for purely innocent reasons.

Aileen1968 -> RE: Michael Jackson taken to the hospital (6/25/2009 5:36:20 PM)

Would you allow your child to be alone with him let alone sleep in a bed with him without any other adults around?
Maybe the parents that did were sick fucks too and were hoping to hit the lottery.
I, personally, never would have let my children anywhere near that man.

You like roleplaying, humiliating and tying up women.

None of those would look good at all if you were accused of something. People would immediately label you as sick and not even give you a chance.

FourQ -> RE: Michael Jackson taken to the hospital (6/25/2009 5:41:12 PM)

Sure, with consenting adults.  Not with kids.

Well let me come at this from a really cold hearted angle. Part of me thinks he was guilty, part of me doesn't. All I know he may have been a bizarre person yet as a singer/songwriter, he was quite talented even if I wasn't a huge fan, I did like some of his songs. Frankly his death is unfortunate yet I was more upset when Freddie Mercury died.

Lockit -> RE: Michael Jackson taken to the hospital (6/25/2009 5:44:35 PM)

How many females were sharing that bed?  We see a pattern here don't we?
