I support Palin for the GOP nomination in 2012. I can't think of a better way to make sure I get to watch President Obama open the 2016 Chicago Olympics.

She's not going to run.  She's just jerking you (and others) around for your money.

She has seen her 15 minutes of financial fame approaching, and is grabbing the millions as we speak.  She could give a shit about you.

And the worst part is, going forward she will always be taking the attention away from the ultimate person (whoever that is) who would be the one to rebuild the Republican brand name.  Thats simply her narcissitic character.

mnottertail -> RE: Palin to resign as governor (7/8/2009 1:51:56 PM)

With the caveat that she could also capitalize on the everyone rubbernecks at a trainwreck factor, and raise big money for the GOP warchest........

And the checkbook has the effect of law.

dont know what she said about the pledge of allegiance? i would take exception to any candidate who doesnt know what the founding fathers said and didnt say, when stating it as fact.

Then you must really hate Biden.

Why would i hate any of them? thats a pretty strong emotion.

Hmmm...maybe because he is a hateful sonofabitch? There is nothing wrong with strong emotions when they are appropriately invoked.

DemandingLeader -> RE: Palin to resign as governor (7/8/2009 1:58:16 PM)

One would think that if the GOP rebuilder was good enough at their job, she wouldnt be necessary.

Is it really going to take two prominent GOPers to best Obama in the fundraising dept?

mnottertail -> RE: Palin to resign as governor (7/8/2009 2:04:04 PM)

Well, they are conservatives. They don't have any truck with science. They are slow to take on change or new things.......

And there seems to be no real coordination of policy over there. She goes on the radio ala Rush Limbaugh (or even does that circuit) she's got a personal fortune (AKA G.Gordy Liddy) and if she gives out political pussy to the neo-con media..............and throws a bone or two to the RNC....

Why, what do they got cooking elsewise?

LOL.

It will take a miraculous deception for Obama to be re-elected. He can no longer pretend that he hasn't taken to heart the philosophies of his radical associaties, and with inflation nearing double digits, the national debt approaching or exceeding 100% of GDP, interest rates in double digits and (if he manages to get a health care plan passed) no improvement in Health Care, and no change in the ME or North Korea he will go the way of Jimmy Carter.

She may be jerking the GOP around for money but she's not doing it to me. I'll admit she is a source of amusement unmatched since the late 80's when I served with a passionate supporter of Dan 'potatoe' Quayle.

If you read what I wrote carefully you will find that I think her being the GOP nominee in 2012 guarantees Obama will be President in 2016.

And who will step into those shoes? The great GOP vacuum?  All the GOP has is Bobby 'geeky awkward' Jindhal, Sarah "say Im pretty or you're fired" Palin, Mitt "second time's a charm?" Romney, Mike "Big Government conservatism" Huckabee, and the guy who bested Jesse "the Great" Ventura as Governor in Minnesota.

My vote is for the Maytag Repair Guy.  At least he knows how to fix vacuums.

mnottertail -> RE: Palin to resign as governor (7/8/2009 2:20:58 PM)

Tim 'the twat' Pawlenty will not make it past the NYTIMES picture of the horde of GOP'ers throwing their hat in the ring picture. You will never see him again.

Sarah might just do a Ross Perot sorta thing (if she can get the warchest) or a Nader (if she can't) but you can better believe that if she starts licking Rush's and O'Rielley's ass and Coulter's labia..................

Media coverage is free............24/7/365 until..........................not gonna run outta spot money like McCain

Even the Maytag Repair Guy will defeat Obama.

You are another one who forgets that the Donkeys also had a huge vacuum in leadership, only being able to muster up Gore, Kerry and Edwards. I have no fear that someone will emerge if it isn't Romney, who has the economic credibility to lead us out of the mess that Obama will have perpetuated.

Actually we are looking at a 1% annual rate of deflation for 2009. As in negative inflation not anything close to double digit inflation.

Give it time, my friend. You can't print money as fast as the presses will run unaccompanied by economic growth, without causing massive inflation.

Do you not understand even basic macroeconomics? The housing bubble and financial meltdown resulted in a massive shrinkage of the money supply. If new money isn't put into the economy to roughly replace the amount lost we will have severe deflation and anyone with even a passing knowledge of economics and history can tell you that deflation is far worse than inflation. So the bailouts and stimulus plans were as much about staving off a long deflationary period as anything else.

Jesse Ventura was "The Body," not "The Great." Though after seeing him in action in the political realm, I'd say great fits pretty well.

Like a bad dime that won't go away......is the world ready for a third Bush in the White House(I know I'm certainly not).Jeb Bush perhaps is taking his first faltering steps towards his own run at the White House in taking some rather robust shots at President Obama in Esquire Magazine

Not that I am one of those people that believe the 'end of the world is nigh' ala 2012. However, as that's the next election year, the one thing that could happen that would be 'that bad' is another Bush getting into the White House. Could this be what the Mayan Calendar is predicting? No, it didnt. It resulted in a temporary decrease in the rate of growth of the money supply. M3 has been and continues on an upward trend, and will accelerate as Obama's policies have to be "funded".

DomKen -> RE: Palin to resign as governor (7/8/2009 2:55:17 PM)

That's funny. Trillions of dollars in assets ceased to exist and M3 grows, pull my other finger.

When youre done pulling on whatever it is you enjoy pulling on, here are the M1 and M2 figures:

money supply growth

M3 isnt officially published but here is the graph if it were:

Since 2006 including your supposed collapse due to housing

Just a question for those posting here...

does anyone think that the announcement of the financial instutions going under was the "first" indication people got that we were in trouble? or that John Q Public found out at the same time as those in power?
