That's funny. Trillions of dollars in assets ceased to exist and M3 grows, pull my other finger.

When youre done pulling on whatever it is you enjoy pulling on, here are the M1 and M2 figures:

money supply growth

M3 isnt officially published but here is the graph if it were:

Since 2006 including your supposed collapse due to housing

You're using M3 stats from a guy selling precious metals by hawking a hyperinflationary depression. I think I'll stick to slightly less biased sources. Deflation is occuring and no short or long term indicator shows any evidence of double digit inflation.

It will take a miraculous deception for Obama to be re-elected. He can no longer pretend that he hasn't taken to heart the philosophies of his radical associaties, and with inflation nearing double digits, the national debt approaching or exceeding 100% of GDP, interest rates in double digits and (if he manages to get a health care plan passed) no improvement in Health Care, and no change in the ME or North Korea he will go the way of Jimmy Carter.

And since someone else has already dealt with your claims of inflation, maybe you can elaborate on the other two claims as well.

DIE, THREAD, DIE!!!

Are there any other valid points worth making over Governor Palin's resignation?  We've gone through all the usual phases of thread-life: joy, sorrow, facts, counter-facts, personal attacks, counter-personal attacks, counter-counter-personal attacks, off-topic sub-threads, and more.  And still we just can't get enough!  What's next? Sarah Palin is the biological mother of Michael Jackson's teary-eyed daughter?  Perasonally, I'm still holding out hope for the meth-head theory, but that's just me ;)

The one sure sign for me that Sarah Palin's 15-miuntes is up was the comments section after today's "article" on her at One News Now, a VERY conservative, christian web site (know your enemies!).  Over 2/3 of the comments were negative and/or openly hostile toward the soon-to-be ex-governor of Alaska.  A week ago, the comments after the 1st "article"* about her resignation were very supportive.  So what changed?  Like me, I think a lot of people are sick-and-tired of the whole topic.  There are real issues to be dealt with in this country and around the world.  And yet we just can't take our eyes off the trainwreck.  Even Mike KcKinnon, top GOP stratesgist, referred to Sarah as "A moose on rollerskates" on the Ron Regan Show this afternoon.  As he explained, she's never graceful but damned amusing to watch.  Time to change the channel.

~Dave

*I put article in quotes as most of the stories on ONN are written without the slightest concept of how journalism works.  Granted, it's a biased site but that's no excuse for not including facts, referencing sources, etc - all the things we learned when we had to write that 1st term paper way back in 4th grade.

I see. So in your typically vacuous and snarky fashion you discount the M1 and M2 numbers from the Fed, and then play ad hominen games against M3 when the same source's M1 and M2 numbers are totally consistent with the Feds. Your so fucking obvious its laughable. Give it up while before you embarass yourself further.

You also might try and explain how declines in real estate and/or stock market asset values change the money supply, which was your claim. (Hint: they don't). You might also try and find a credible source to back up your claim that M3 did decline. And if you can you can explain how M3 could decline while its major components captured in M2 increased and those not captured in M2 are bascially large time deposits with long maturities.

They arent "claims" they are well informed predictions (and the inflation one was by no means "dealt with"). What kind of elaboration would you care for?

Other valid points? The existant ones must have gotten lost in the bullshit.

tazzygirl -> RE: Palin to resign as governor (7/8/2009 5:38:55 PM)

lol.. we work with fact... you with predictions... and you say WE will be embarassed!

Palin walks away from office! Obama is trying to clean up a huge mess from the remains of the Bush Administration!

and we will be embarassed!

the only thing in this thread that is embarrassiog is how anyone in their right mind would even attempt to compare the two!

Class is someone sticking around to clean up their own messes. Class is hanging in there no matter what. Class is knowing when someone is trying to help you. Class is NOT firing people because you believe they would not be loyal.

Class is performing your job to the best of your abilities while pushing aside personal grudges for the better of the community.

She never asked to ban anything. She asked how the librarian would react to someone attempting to get books banned, and how the librarian would react if then protesters showed up to picket the library.

Sounds to me more like she wanted to understand how she (and the librarian) would have to handle such a situation, if it were to arise, and not that she had a list of books she wanted to get out of the library.

I'm sorry, but reading this brings to mind "The absence of evidence is not the evidence of absence" That seems to be a pretty specific request of information, which would make me thing that someone has an idea about banning certain books and wants to see what would happen if they tried to go ahead and do that. And since Palin is the one asking the question, the logic (mine at least) would conclude that either she is the one with the idea, or has a very close connection with the person who has that plan.

tazzygirl -> RE: Palin to resign as governor (7/8/2009 6:23:05 PM)

Keep in mind, the librarian was also President of the Alaska Library Association at the time of these incidents... she was asked not once, but three times.

So ... accusation = guilty, huh?

Not from around here, are ya'?

Sure sure, we all "say" innocent until proven guilty. But let's ask....oh I don't know. The Duke Lacrosse players. Or....how about MJ? Oh wait, can't ask him anymore. Let's see...who else can we ask? How about any cop who's ever had his name in the news for "alleged" wrongdoing and subsequently had his career destroyed only to be found 'not guilty' later.

Yeah.....we LOVE to say "innocent until proven guilty" but we damned sure don't practice it.

Dont project your attitude on others.

Loki can project that attitude on me. Feels pretty accurate from what I've seen.

Okay, no more old replies from me. Finally caught up on all the reading, some good stuff, some funny stuff. Some really just SAD stuff too.

I support Palin for the GOP nomination in 2012. I can't think of a better way to make sure I get to watch President Obama open the 2016 Chicago Olympics.

Like a bad dime that won't go away......is the world ready for a third Bush in the White House(I know I'm certainly not).Jeb Bush perhaps is taking his first faltering steps towards his own run at the White House in taking some rather robust shots at President Obama in Esquire Magazine

Oh crap, I was afraid this was gonna happen. Watch Jeb take over in 2012, start another war in 2014, and use that to sail to an easy victory in 2016 (hey, it worked for Dubya) ... I pray I don't live that long

*edit*
Hey, that was my 25th post ... why am I still 'nilla? I'm curious to know [sm=ballchain.gif]

A new Gallup Poll...asking Republicans if they would vote for Sarah Palin.....72% said yes. What are these people smoking?

I'm not at all surprised by this result, especially since it was not "versus Romney or Pawlenty", but rather assuming she were the 2012 Republican candidate.  I read it as more of an "anybody but a Democrat" vote, not a ringing endorsement of Palin.

True Cagey....and turned on its head almost 1/3 wouldn't vote for her....as the Republican candidate!!!!
Another interesting number from this poll is 17% of ....gasp....Democrats said they would!
Now if I could get my hands on what those people are smoking.....I'd be a very happy man.

Ummm... Ken?  Do you know if they have checked what historically happens when you just print up money that never existed before?  That can be a pretty good indicator too.

That answers my first question since your post did not make clear they were predictions and I was wondering whether you were just misinformed.

Now, the second question is who made these predictions and why I should consider them well informed.

I'm sorry; it was a trick. I knew that the icon and status change with the 26th post, not the 25th, so I posted something calculated to make you post a response - knowing that your response would probably be, 'no, it hasn't', and that as soon as you posted it, you'd see that it had. Sorry, that was maybe a little too devious. [8D]
