allow me to paraphrase a quote from Churchill, as it definitely applies -

"If you are young, and are not a liberal, then you have no heart. But if, when you get older, you are still a liberal, then you have no brain."
[sm=Groaner.gif]  was Churchill implying one must lose one's heart in order to develop ones brain....tripe,much like your link.Which was nothing more than right wing spin and bore no resemblance at all to real journalism.

Not to mention that there is no record of Churchill ever having said that--it came from a mid-nineteenth century historian and statesman by the name of Francois Guizot.

So harddaddy is quoting from the right wing's beloved French!

French, English... it's all the same thing. Liberals from the other side of the ocean. Details, details.

Liberalism is a disease.

OK, thanks for confirming what I always thought: you think favoring individual freedom is a disease.

Because that's the DEFINITION of liberalism.

Hell, I dunno.
Maybe it was the fact that you quoted me, and the bottom right hand corner of your post it said "In Reply To"?

I replied to your comment when you replied to mine. As I said, show me a word or grouping of words that said you did anything or that matter had anything whatsoever to do with you.

No? That's what I thought.

You are just attempting to start a fight over bullshit.

So ... accusation = guilty, huh?

Not from around here, are ya'?

Sure sure, we all "say" innocent until proven guilty. But let's ask....oh I don't know. The Duke Lacrosse players. Or....how about MJ? Oh wait, can't ask him anymore. Let's see...who else can we ask? How about any cop who's ever had his name in the news for "alleged" wrongdoing and subsequently had his career destroyed only to be found 'not guilty' later.

Yeah.....we LOVE to say "innocent until proven guilty" but we damned sure don't practice it.

Dont project your attitude on others.

Funny, I was just thinking the same of you when you blatantly accused me of accusing you of something when I made no mention of you whatsoever. Sensitive much?

Good advice. My suggestion to you is to follow it yourself.

Show a single example of where I project anything on others.

I dont think you know what "projecting" means.

You provided a supposed example of me projecting something on you that has nothing to do with projecting. Your responses ignore or dont understand what I said, so feel free to not respond.

True dat...OTOH, the Senate cafeteria didn't rename English Muffins to "Freedom Muffins"...

(yes, the Senate cafeteria actually renamed French Fries to "Freedom Fries" shortly after Dubya's invasion of Iraq, for those who don't remember that example from the long list of GOP inanities...)

slvemike4u -> RE: Palin to resign as governor (7/8/2009 1:20:33 PM)

A new Gallup Poll...asking Republicans if they would vote for Sarah Palin.....72% said yes. What are these people smoking?
On the other hand.....1/3 of Republicans claimed they would NOT vote for her.
The poll offered no alternative candidate....just a straight yes or no on Palin.
Imagine if they actually had a choice....what would that do the numbers?

DomKen -> RE: Palin to resign as governor (7/8/2009 1:27:08 PM)

I support Palin for the GOP nomination in 2012. I can't think of a better way to make sure I get to watch President Obama open the 2016 Chicago Olympics.

slvemike4u -> RE: Palin to resign as governor (7/8/2009 1:33:42 PM)

That's a fact Ken,nominating her would be a sure fire road map to a second Obama term.
The only fly in that ointment IMO would be what it says about the rifts in our society.....For her to be nominated the fundies and conservatives would still need to be driving the Republican bus....wouldn't it be better if the Republican Party could be wrested from these divisive influences?
