Oh please, don't tell me you believe that nonsense. It's just a bunch of crud to scare you so that they can stop Obama from correcting the unfairness of it all now. They want to keep things as they are so they can make ridiculous profits. You have to remember Obama's mother was fighting with insurance companies because they wanted to deny her treatment of cancer for a pre-existing condition. Please support and trust the president he will not sell out his mother or the American people.

Lockit -> RE: HEALTH CARE (7/23/2009 2:13:31 PM)

Dude I am reading now from the bill itself.

yes, but what you don't realize is the republicans have cast a spell over that bill, so that when you read it, they will be able to control your thoughts. You just don't know how evil those bastards are.

Lucylastic -> RE: HEALTH CARE (7/23/2009 2:18:00 PM)

OK that was funny I dont care who you are, lol

Lockit -> RE: HEALTH CARE (7/23/2009 2:18:40 PM)

ROFL!

maybemaybenot -> RE: HEALTH CARE (7/23/2009 2:29:05 PM)

Brain:
Maybe you can tell me why Obama, Congress and Senate won't have to participate in this plan, but will keep their own plan they have now. As Obama said last night " The best health plan in the world ".  Maybe you can tell me why Ted Kennedy is entitled to half a dozen MRI's, tests, blue pill, red pill, Primary Care MD, Oncologist, nutritionist, Nuerologist, nuclear scans and chemotherapy, radiation of the finest, more follow up MRIS and more tests and more follow up scans, yet when we get our new downgrade, we ain't gonna be entitled to the same caliber of healthcare they will continue to enjoy ? Why is Mr. Kennedy's health more important than mine or yours ?

Since they seem so excited about all this, let them make a new plan for federal Employees, like they want to give us.  After two years, let us know how that is working for them and then we will take it. They want universal Health. Fair enough. Universal is all encompassing, they can get in line with us.

And while you're at it, splain to me how we can add 50 million people to a national healthcare plan and " make money or even save money ".  The current Medicare system isn't even covering expenses.

You say claiming that tax money will be needed to pay for this program is a scare tactic. Ok, tell me where the magic money is coming from. We have the largest deficit ever and you are telling me that there is money somewhere to foot this bill ? Fuck it, take the money, pay off the debt and let me keep my health insurance.

I know that was meant as a joke, but there's some truth to it.

When someone has already been told an interpretation of something, like the Fred Thompson infomercial for the insurance companies, they tend to look at it in those terms and not objectively.

Lockit -> RE: HEALTH CARE (7/23/2009 3:09:03 PM)

So now you are a judge of my objectivity?  Interesting.

I'll have you know... I am a libra and I can be very objective! hehe

Because I don't like some of what I am reading does not mean that someone has influenced me! It means I have a bit of expereince in this area and will evaluate it on my experience. Few have ever influenced me without merit and I will be damned if in the whole picture or long run I will come round to thinking like someone wants me to. For a moment I may get sidetracked, but you can bet I am going to find out what's going on and then decide.

Brain -> RE: HEALTH CARE (7/23/2009 3:34:49 PM)

Because the plan Obama and Congress have is better, so they kept it. They have every right to do so and so do you if your plan is better. And another thing, I have already answered this question before.

The REAL problem is the Republicans will not support providing you the same plan Congress has. So the plan they are passing now, or trying to pass now, is not good enough, I think for you or for me, but the hard reality is that it is better than nothing. Especially for those people who have no insurance whatsoever.

How shameful it is for the United States, the wealthiest industrialized country in the world not to provide health insurance for its citizens like every other industrialized country. Shameful and disgraceful and Americans go around waving the flag and saying the United States is the best country in the world, well it’s not. Norway has a higher standard of living. Of course the same people who say there is no money for healthcare can find lots of money to spend on the F22.

And don’t blame this on Ted Kennedy and liberals. Ted Kennedy has been fighting all his life to provide health insurance for everyone. It’s people like Fred Thompson and those lies I listened to on his website with that despicable woman, with a major conflict of interest that was undisclosed, it’s people like that who are to blame for healthcare reform not to have taken place in the last 50 years. And we have to listen to all this garbage that we have to get it right and Obama is being hasty. What a bunch of crap! Right wing crap, too many people like Bill O Reilly drinking the Kool-Aid. And to think I used to like the guy. The loser.

The money comes from reforming the system to reduce costs in the future. What you’re advocating is to do nothing which means the deficit will get worse and costs will continue to rise. And that’s not sustainable, which I have been saying over and over, but some people just don’t get it or maybe they don’t want to because of self-interest.

And why do you have the bill? Maybe it's because you're interested in misrepresenting it so you can kill it.

Study after study shows $800 billion a year is wasted on health care that is not needed because the system is inefficient. There is that much waste in federal health systems. It's not easy to change this system but for many patients they define quality as getting more even though it may not be needed. This requires a national education effort.

If you look at the outcome results for the money that is spent by the United States the country is just not getting value for its money compared to other countries. Money is being spent on healthcare that does not improve outcomes.

The president said he wants a health care plan that is the best care but not simply the most expensive care. We need to change the way we pay for care. The country should look at Massachusetts and try to change the payment system to move towards what Cleveland clinic is already doing and change the way we pay for care.

Why is someone here reading a 1000 page bill unless they're involved in the industry?

Physicians recognize that the current system has terrible care for many patients. And most people strongly support and trust the president. We need to do more to control costs.

Today physicians spend money on red tape. Today we spend money on people that are uninsured and they push costs onto others going into emergency rooms.

Lockit -> RE: HEALTH CARE (7/23/2009 3:55:14 PM)

Oh give it a break! You assume far too much! If you have read any of my post you will see someone who hates the current system. Now stop playing big bad defender and trying to make me something I am not. Give it a rest big boy.

Study after study shows $800 billion a year is wasted on health care that is not needed because the system is inefficient. no they dont, not even close. There is that much waste in federal health systems. It's not easy to change this system but for many patients they define quality as getting more even though it may not be needed. This requires a national education effort.

If you look at the outcome results for the money that is spent by the United States the country is just not getting value for its money compared to other countries. Money is being spent on healthcare that does not improve outcomes. are there inefficiencies? yes. Is money spent on higher cost procedures that might not justify the addtional cost IN YOUR MIND? yes...but that someone who can afford it opts to pay for the minimal improvement is none of your business, and none of the governments business. Our outcomes are the best in the world.

The president said he wants a health care plan that is the best care but not simply the most expensive care. and has proposed nothing that improves care or reduces costs. We need to change the way we pay for care. The country should look at Massachusetts Spot on...we need to look at the dismal failure that the Massachusetts plan is proving to be.and try to change the payment system to move towards what Cleveland clinic is already doing and change the way we pay for care.

Why is someone here reading a 1000 page bill unless they're involved in the industry? Because some people actually like to base their decision on information that isnt filtered through the media or a bunch of internet nitwits.

FR:

I recommend that we ship all physicians and pharmacists to the Moon.

Humans are the only species with such enormous health care costs. Other species are way smarter. I never heard zebra discussing how many billions of dollars to spend on health care. They simply get eaten by lions and the remainders are disposed of by hyena, vultures, rodents and insects. So they even do not have any funeral costs. The result: all live zebra are healthy zebra.

Crazy Wingnut Healthcare Attacks Exposed

Predictably, as healthcare reform grows larger in the window, the claims from the far-right are becoming increasingly bizarre and ridiculous, topping, in some cases, the psychotic claims of, say, the Obama birthers.

I think someone needs to shut the tv off and read the bill.

While your hero worship is admirable... and you think the man can do no wrong... that is a personal opinion, just like much of the last link you posted.

I think I will go straight to the source on this one, thank you very much.

Relax.

It was a general comment about everyone's tendency to do that.
