That would work. I haven't even done anything wrong and my face flushed with embarrassment and shame at the prospect of having to face sit face to explain myself. I don't like having to explain myself when I know I'm wrong. I'd rather take the whuppin'

Status: offline 		Yeah... the essay seems to be universally hated.  As are having to sit an face the dominant and explain their actions.  Either is generally worse than time outs or caning the bottoms of feet.

Personally I've found it to be an effective formula to both make them explain / think about what they did alongside a physical component.  If it was a behavior I'm trying to discourage, some physical discomfort usually helps reinforce the lesson (sit ups is a favorite or mine).  If its a behavior I'm trying to encourage, repetition works well to teach the actual behavior...not just til they get it right... but until its drilled into them.  Afterwards, I follow the repitition with praise to reinforce it as a correct behavior.

Seriously Red, spot on. Not that I think I have even an inkling of what the whole top/bottom world is like. Since the entire thing seems like play to me, it's hard to understand how there could be a "serious" problem. Cleary my understanding is extremely limited.

Take my books away for a week and I'm completely miserable.  He's used that punishment.

What Constitutes a True Ass Whuppin? Must One open a Can of Ass Whupp or Would you need to make Whupp from Scratch to make it True?

Okay all Snarkyness aside.

If you are asking for Punishment/Funishment Material those kind of questions do not go over well here because it is really difficult to answer those questions without knowing the Dynamic and you can only truely know a Dynamic by being in it.

That being said here are the Most Common Nasty Punishments that get spread around......

Make Her Kneel on a Kitchen floor with rice under her knees.
Make her stand on a Pile of Legos
Make her sit in an imaginary chair while holding out a dictionary in front of her
Make her stand in a room full of Mustard Gas without a Gas Mask
Make her tell you the Truth about your sexual abilities (Sometimes this one back fires)

All other things considered this is really something you need to work out for yourself. Getting advice on Punishments is just like asking for pointers on how to cum. It is fun to talk about but applying to actual practice is more than a little difficult.

Beyond that, the dominant must be willing to accept his share of the blame. Are you a lazy dominant, not motivating her, not interested in getting into her head? Have you taught her how to do what you want her to do? Is she even capable of it?

There are dominants out there who order the sub not to cum until given permission without bothering to discover that she can't orgasm in the first place.

He could order me to change the oil in the car till the cows come home. I still wouldn't know how to do it. And him running through the steps verbally one time wouldn't do anything. I need more than that to learn how to stuff. I need him to physically show me, break it down one step at a time, and be willing to go over repeatedly a step I can't seem to grasp. And then watch while I try to do it and accept the fact that I don't have enough physical strength in my hand to accomplish it.

Status: offline 		Soooooo, I am guessing that this means someone has screwed up royally and there needs to be corrective action, right? If it is a masochist you are dealing with, I wouldn't bother with physical stuff. That or you would have to be adept enough to make it a very different (in a bad way) experience than what is normally experienced. Emotional masochists, look out! Now you have a tough nut to crack.

One of the keys to a successful punishment to me is that it can't be fun for anyone. If you are getting kicks and jollies out of enacting the punishment in any way, you may confuse the submissive. If you are clearly having no fun whatsoever and not at all pleased with having to do it, then you've communicated much more clearly.

I have to agree with the face to face confession or the essay. Frankly, it is not that it would necessarily be so hard for me, but that it opens communication. The submissive must be honest with him/herself first of all. Then, if you know the submissive well, holding back when revealing this to you will be fruitless. Further, it serves as a reference point for you to express why what was done was wrong, how to do better next time, and what you see that you can do to insure future success. I not only want a punishment to be a deterrent, but one that will heal and strengthen the relationship as a whole.

You have found someone?  (congrats BTW)  But a MASSIVE problem has already arisen?  Maybe you two are not compatible.  Maybe you need to really examine just WHAT the problem is.  I think that you two should talk.  It could be a perception problem.

Do you know if she/he could handle it?  I know in my persona experience that I would not sleep at all well on the floor with no cover.  My bad knees and bad back couldn't take it - I would be sick and miserable in the morning, and it would be rather unhealthy for me.  Have you taken her health into account?
