Well, biatch, I should be ever so greatful you responded to me when I wrote you then, huh?

~smooch~

Kassie

You bet your ass. I knew you were a hottie without even having to look.

Either that, or I knew you were trouble.

I forget which.

My own picture is so glorious that its very radiance blinds the eye.

Permantly.... LOL

I put mine up for the simple fact that I really get tired of the... "What do you look like" questions... because of NORM... when SOME guys see i'm not A Sports Illustrated SwimSuit Model... they get all .... ewwwwwww your a fat ugly bitch aren't you... and I just smile.. and say... yep.. that's me. (no I know I'm not and ugly bitch.. just a bitch.. LOL)

At least when they see my pic.. those that do not like BBW... they can keep right on going and not waste no ones time.

No when I see a profile... e-mailer.. with no pic.. I usually just ask.. why no pic.. they either then send one... or they explain why. So it's not really a big deal to me either way.

slave4Darby3d -> RE: No picture is this a Warning for Some? (2/22/2006 10:43:32 PM)

I don't put a picture up for a few reasons - not because I am a flaming troll doll, or a bipolar she freak.

I'm a mother. Don't want members of the PTA seeing my mug shot on the web.

I'm a business owner. Don't want my customers suddenly realizing where they saw me.

I'm very visible in the community. Don't want my customers' clients knowing anything about me, other than what I do to help them.

I'm a private person. If you know my face it is because I have reason to see yours.

if that feels to you like a Warning - well, then take it. But, from me, it's not.

your results may vary...

no read. That includes boob shots. If your finest asset is your bra or your nipples, I am not interested in going any further. [;)]

LOL ditto on the boob and bra shots shots! its an immediate NEXT!

i had my profile and pic up for roughly 2 months before taking it all down. No one read the profile anyway!!! So i decided to do my own hunting and even with that i get an occasional email.

i write to someones profile and at the end of my intro i include both my pics and whatever parts of my profile fit what they want hear that i am compatible with them on.

if it looks like its turing into an email fest i will ask for their pics and even to talk on the phone if i feel i am being lead up the garden path.

i think its human nature to glance up and see someone and from that glance determine if they are even someone you would consider attractive in the first place, if attractive move to the next square if not next before even reading the intro. which always made me wonder why the intro in the first place. it seems like it should be pic, yes/no, ok now tell me more.

i do not believe it is a warning unless someone tries to avoid sending it to you and likewise with phone numbers and calling times can be red lites as well.

ownedgirlie -> RE: No picture is this a Warning for Some? (2/22/2006 11:18:41 PM)

i know i will probably get a lot of flack for this, but here goes....and it's just my own little silly observation. And please note i said silly before you all start beating me up.

i see posts from a lot of people with various filters: No pic in profile, no talk. If you live over 100 miles away, no talk. If you have any semblance of something i don't like in your personality, no talk. If you have a freckle under your left eye....(okay i'm getting carried away). And then at the same time, there are complaints that it is hard to meet like people in D/s forums.

Is it just me who finds that odd? (rhetorical question, really)

~ 5 cents in the bucket for that one

Lordandmaster -> RE: No picture is this a Warning for Some? (2/22/2006 11:38:28 PM)

People, it's FLAK, not flack. It's short for "Flugabwehrkannone" (which means "anti-aircraft artillery").

ownedgirlie -> RE: No picture is this a Warning for Some? (2/22/2006 11:44:57 PM)

Thank you for your input. i will be sure to wear my armored vest [;)]

And here i thought i would catch FLAK from the actual message rather than for the letter "c" ~ grin

Lordandmaster -> RE: No picture is this a Warning for Some? (2/22/2006 11:46:23 PM)

Just givin' you shit. I don't disagree with the rest of what you said.

ownedgirlie -> RE: No picture is this a Warning for Some? (2/22/2006 11:47:45 PM)

Shit taken, stirred, and divvied out (and i checked on the spelling of divvied, lol)

MistressFire70 -> RE: No picture is this a Warning for Some? (2/23/2006 8:20:25 AM)

I wouldn't say that it was a red flag, per se, but the impression that I get from that decision is that the person is not yet comfortable with who they are, or they are trying to hide their involvement, or both. I want neither. Leather is who I am, not just what I do and I want people in my life who feel the same.

However, I have talked to people who contact me and send a picture that way. Someone else posted that they were getting stupid comments when they had their picture up and I can understand how that would make them take their photo down. So, while I usually don't look at profiles without pictures, I might email someone who sends a picture privately right off the bat.

On the other hand, I know that some pics are fake. In fact, someone contacted a friend of mine, showing a picture of a really hot model. She knew this because she had that same picture posted on her website! *chuckle*

MstrTiger -> RE: No picture is this a Warning for Some? (2/23/2006 7:59:17 PM)

I always have a picture of myself on my online profiles because far more people are likely to look at someone’s profile if it has one. If I get a message from someone interested in becoming my slave and they don’t include a picture then I usually don’t respond, if a person without a profile picture is just asking a question about something or sending a compliment then I usually do respond.

I bet they don't include a picture most of the time because a lot of them are extremely optimistic women ... [:D]

MistressSassy66 -> RE: No picture is this a Warning for Some? (2/23/2006 8:24:38 PM)

A pic not in a profile wouldnt bother Me,most of My pics get rejected here(I swear I'm a Good Girl)So finding one can be difficult, because of restrictions on photos.

After chatting awhile and refusing you a pic then yes a warning sign.
I'm sure that was a repeat of everyone above Me.

cacodylic -> RE: No picture is this a Warning for Some? (2/23/2006 8:52:24 PM)

This has been a great thread, with really good replies.
I understand that there are many good reasons why someone would not want to post a pic, and as has already been indicated by many, there is plenty of opportunity for photos to be privately exchanged after contact has been made.
My own personal alarm bell is when there is no weight listed... makes me tend to assume the worst [I like skinny].
Even more perplexing to me are the utterly blank profiles -- no statement, no interests listed, zip, nada. Why even bother?

PenelopePitstop -> RE: No picture is this a Warning for Some? (2/23/2006 9:00:35 PM)

I do take blank profiles as a warning, it implies everything I don't want in a friend or partner: lack of effort, lack of things to say, secrecy, viewing self-expression as unimportant, reliance on vital statistics and/or photo to attract, inability to read and write...

windchymes -> RE: No picture is this a Warning for Some? (2/23/2006 10:23:24 PM)

I have pics posted in the "vanilla" ad sites, but not here or other BDSM-themed sites. I state exactly why in my profile: "My kids are old enough to legally browse here and I don't want them in therapy for the next 10 years." But I ALWAYS include a photo with the first email.

Vendaval -> RE: No picture is this a Warning for Some? (2/24/2006 12:40:51 AM)

Thank you House of Bear. I will not post a picture on a public profile for this very reason. If someone begins to e-mail and chat with Me then eventually pictures will be exchanged. And yes, as many of the other women have observed, posting your photograph frequently results in a flood of obnoxious messages.

YMMV,

Vendaval

ORIGINAL: HouseofBear

Many people do not post pictures out of fear that it could jeopardize their job if someone recognizes them. I personally know someone who lost a very good job because someone at their work recognized their pic on another meeting site. He no longer posts his picture on line. So, if you look at profiles with pics only, you may be cheating yourself out of talking with someone really worthwhile.

Guilty1974 -> RE: No picture is this a Warning for Some? (2/24/2006 1:19:05 AM)

No, It's not a red flag for me. I tend to judge people first on what they write on the forums, in their profile or in a private message. A picture can be faked much more easily than well written opinions or honest questions. So I appreciate the pictures, but I don't think it is a requirement. In fact, a thorough operating faker would probably put picture on his/her profile...

I don't have a picture in my own profile. I don't think I have to show my face to prove I'm real. I've been active in several BDSM associations for several years, organising play parties amongst others, and together with my girlfriend I run a small amateur bondage website. Basically, people from my own country just know that I'm real, and if anyone doubts it because I haven't got a picture in my profile....ehm... well, go ahead and doubt it, I won't lose any sleep over it I guess.

By the way, my girlfriend and did try to upload a (fully dressed) bondage picture not showing our faces as an example of what we like to do, but that got refused by collarme.com staff, which I can understand considering 2257 and communications decency act legislation.

phoenix1 -> RE: No picture is this a Warning for Some? (2/24/2006 1:55:49 AM)

it would be if that person has sinister plans and needs to be shrouded in anonymity...
or not... if they're angelic and just don't have a nice pic available at the time...
