Taylor Swift is a new country singer. shes very...girl next doorish, and very sweet, kind of naive also (or she plays really well at it). LA, "la la land". Any publicity is good publicity. Those awards are usually boring- fake events...and the media hypes it like the 2nd coming of Christ. I tho am stuck in the 80s. Maybe the other gal should have won. Show me the money. Show me the talent. I never watch awards shows. They are overly self congratulatory. One thought did come to me- when watching the link. It is sad that MJ is gone. I always wondered what a come back would have looked like. But like so many before him the snakes fed off of him like a meal ticket.... enabled him- doped him up. How tragic. As to West- cheap publicity stunt. I have no idea is beonci was better.... because I am not up to date.

I actually didn't like either of the video's... I've seen far better. But that isn't the point. However the music industry does what they do and it is what it is... But I loved what Pink said and how other's are standing up for what they think is right.

He apparently wanted to wait untill the butt crack of dawn to do the song he wanted. But, much to his chagrin (heh) Pearl Jam (the act prior to his) went over their alloted time due to encore performances.

whether kanye was correct is beside the point. most people with some element of breeding understand that what one thinks doesn't necessarily need to come tumbling from your mouth. he had ample opportunity to rethink his lunacy before he reached the stage. i don't see his inebriation as the cause, but a probable scapegoat he will utilize as an excuse for his behavior. everyone has an opinion. most don't elect to interrupt an award presentation unexpectedly to share it. this is no different than the accolades others may receive that we may feel are undeserving. my personal feelings never outweigh my sensibility and respect for decorum. porcelaine

I do think about of the "talent" of the last many years is based on money/sales/payola and not true talent. I am not familiar with any of the music. I don't fault West tho. It was a stunt. Good bad or otherwise Hollywood is all about hype. La la land. The girl bringing out the other girl for her moment was nice. Most of the hollywood stars are so fake it is not even funny. It gives a bad name to the good people of LA- and yes there are good people who live there. Alot of things are done for shock appeal. And I certainly would get reprimanded- but I think Madonnas comments about MJ was out of line. If all we can ever do is sell sex- what does that say about us? We are carnal and shallow. What about brains? What about true artistic talent? The whole notion of 'class" carries over to people I see in the store. Who wants to see a 1/2 naked sweaty body while grocery shopping? Health can radiate from the inside out. That glow of happiness and balance. It does not come from Mabeline or Madison avenue. I guess I will just line everyone up and inspect the teeth like one does when buying a horse. As humans we are above that. At least one would hope.
