You mean has our second incursion in Iraq been successful?

The answer seems to be "yes".

Now, please quit claiming you read fully any links before you respond to them. You don't, by your own admission.

Since you haven't read the article I quoted (you apparently skimmed, and just looked for any reason to give yourself an excuse to disregard it), you have no idea how it directly relates to the OP. Claiming it's "off topic" to the thread is just further justification for you not to address it.

I'm claiming any article praising a KKK leader and his beneficial effect on American society is pure, unadulterated crap.

And do please explain to me how our second incursion into Iraq has been successful when we are continuing to lose American lives, bombings and violence continue on a daily basis, and it is the among the longest and most costly wars in U.S. history?

Iraq war 'caused slowdown in the US'

THE Iraq war has cost the US 50-60 times more than the Bush administration predicted and was a central cause of the sub-prime banking crisis threatening the world economy, according to Nobel Prize-winning economist Joseph Stiglitz.

The former World Bank vice-president yesterday said the war had, so far, cost the US something like $US3trillion ($3.3 trillion) compared with the $US50-$US60-billion predicted in 2003.

Fair comment Butch but the dreamer reference was uncalled for, given that I have actually managed to fulfill dreams and achieve stuff. And not knowing me personally you don't know whether I'm grounded in reality or not, so perhaps it might be worth accepting that my reality is different to your's and just stick to discussing the topic and our opinions on it?

Of course we all judge others by their words here on CM. That is all we have to go on. Dreamer is not a bad word...in fact what I read of your posts you are very creative and you always look for the best in others... I would call that a dreamer… Not a damn thing wrong with that.

But perhaps rather than dreamer I should have said naïve…and I know that will offend you and I am sorry. I do not mean it as an insult in any way. Some people think it is possible to change the mind of man with reason, I believe you are of this mindset. Those that think this way are invariably disappointed.

In most all your threads you rail against this inability of man to use reason to settle differences and put charity above greed. You are a good person with little understanding of human nature…or you think it is possible to change this nature…either way it is naïve. You are the future…I hope.

Butch

PS… You should not be upset with me making judgments about your reality because you are also making the same judgments about me. You accused me of advocated the indiscriminate use of force. If I'm anything… I am discriminate.

It's pretty obvious what to do if we're attacked again, we take out Mecca and Medina and there won't be any more "islam."

Popeye, you are aware, are you not, that Mecca and Al Medina are the exact same place?

And I'd also suggest that before you start talking about taking out the whole of 'Islam' it might be a good start to actually get to grips with the Taliban first.

Butch I think I'll just accept that you have a different opinion and a different reality and leave it there.

Especially when you think MI6 is a weapon.

I've nothing further to say at this point.

Uh, as an Australian, I'd like to ask, how does doing that remove Jamal Islamia in South East Asia?

The guys that blew up Bali, remember?

as e-sinn's signature line states a desire to do something criminal, and as 9-11 was completely criminal, his post carries weight.
