Yes. The tears are a reaction to pain. People react differently.

Yes. Whipped, cropped, slippered, caned.
But the tears are not just a simple reaction to pain. With me it's NOT the pain that makes me cry.
It's more complex emotions. The emoyion that has mad m cty most of all (whilst being flogged, smacked etc.() is a kind of oh-i'm-never-goig-to-kigk-this' or 'i'm so-relieved- or on occassion a flashbeck.
Complexity makes me cry and it is the physical release of the tears that simplify it. There is a chasm often between myself and the dominant I feel, and that chasm makes me cry. The chasm conists of my perception that they may not realise why i am crying and believe it simply to be the pain.
Dancing like this and just dancing makes me cry.....

Yes, once i realised i needed to cry as Master was flogging me and didn't let on, just let Him continue. It wasn't the physical pain at all, there was just this strong sense that i needed to let something out. i still have no idea what "it" was but eventually it came out and i sobbed my little heart out. It was very cathartic to me, but it did give Master a bit of a fright (it was early days for us, these days He would know what was happening). However i still think the first time i cracked up laughing (He now recognises this as a stage i go through on the way into subspace) probably startled Him more!

It's called "cathartic."

Catharsis, the physical pain allows a lot of emotional stress to be relieved.

My girl hits this occasionally.... usually when playing at a club and not wearing waterproof mascara

But seriously, it isn't just the pain, she does and has taken far more at times where she hasn't cried. Oft it is just the way the catharsis hits and comes out. Especially when it has been a little whilst since We played hard enough to scratch that deep maso itch of hers.

Greetings

Whipped to tears yes, to crying no. As for how it was, quite nice. And besides, I have to thigh tear canals, when tears first come it is very healthy for my eyes. So yes nice in all regards, healthy, exiting, a turn on, all around nice.

I wish you well

Hmmm you did not think it prudent to maybe tell him ahead of time you were going to take this little side trip? Probably scarred the poor man half to death <<chuckles>> I am guessing he was going pretty heavy by this time to make you cry. Do you continue on at this high level or do you basically start over?

That can only be answered by another question..... how well has the Master/Dom/Top learned to read His slave/sub/bottom

Last time it happened with My girl We where only about five to ten minutes into playing, only just through the warm-up, the tears started just as I was beginning to raise the level of the play. But I know her well enough to know when I need to back off because there is something in the way and when she badly needs Me to push through and take her with Me, to let her cathart, let those tears flow. Its a very cleansing experience for her when it happens and stopping short would be the worst thing I could possibly do.

I have cried from both emotional relief and pain.
I have never been punished and god forbid I never want to be but I do have strong masochistic tendencies and I can often take fairly severe. Severe tends to make me space and when I space I tend to go to a very beautiful place that makes the emotional tears well up in me. Those are silent and happy tears.
There are times when any kind of pain seems acute and I just can't cope well with even something as mild as a spanking. Then my tears are loud sobs... the tears of a cry baby

Having been introduced to a different term within D/s, I did a little reading, but nowhere have I found an answer to My question, so please excuse My lack of knowledge, but is the submissive "aware" of the reason why they are crying if it's not due to the pain ? From the Definitions I came across, I would "suggest" the answer to My question is a "no"

Definition: A catharsis is an emotional release. According to psychodynamic theory, this emotional release is linked to a need to release unconscious conflicts. For example, experiencing stress over a work-related situation may cause feelings of frustration and tension. Rather than vent these feelings inappropriately, the individual may instead release these feelings in another way, such as through physical activity or another stress relieving activity.

and is Catharsis possible AFTER scening, or would that not fit in with the very definition of the word ? I'm a "little" confused about it so any extra help in understanding would be gratefully received ! Thank you

Sometimes they are acutely aware of it... other times not at all, in fact they could be quite confused as to why they are crying, why the reactions are quite so strong, let alone where they might be coming from.

And yes, it can be during the scene, directly after... or even part of the comedown a while later or drop upto a day or two later.

Yes, i had been out of line... He was rather angry... He punished me...He put me on hands and knees on the bed and He hit my bare bottom with a wooden spoon... He hit me hard, but it was not the pain that made me cry... it was what He said and when i understood Him clearly; my feeling of shame, humiliation and total submission to Him.

Edited to add... i cry regularly, sad movies, good sex, art, music, nature, lots of things make me cry, just as a let out for a big feeling...

I have cried from emotions, but never from pain. Perhaps one day.....

I have been spanked to tears, but it was the headspace and not the pain that allowed them.
And then the 'aftercare' that gave them space.

"Give Me those tears; you do not want them anyway."
