FAST REPLY: I only read a few of the first comments, but to everyone...there is a report photo button on the pictures.If you want a particular picture to be reviewed by the staff because you think it may be in violation etc., click that button.

It's called click the report photo button, then hide that user. You will never see them again!

It's a turn off to me to see the naked crotch of either sex in a profile photo. If I see a cock shot in a profile, this immediately rules the guy out...huge huge turn off for me. But to each his own of course, and I'm sure there are many people, both male and female, who enjoy seeing crotch pics.

While I like dick pics as pornography & novelty & for various & sundry other reasons, from the seeking-partnership mode I agree with the line of reasoning that those using a cock shot as a primary pic are probably a no-go . . . . . For me, cuz the message that having a penis as one's avatar indicates to me that that penis is the center of that person's world . . . . Or, at least, that's my knee-jerk initial impression. Well technically the rules say nothing 'obscene' and technically cock shots fall under that particular category. but its rarely enforced. Personally if I ran the site I wouldn't allow it simply because I wouldn't want to risk it booting out of my CDA protection, but thats me.

Realistically I don't see how you can completely prevent it anyway

Ummm, what she means is that before about 2 or 3 months ago all photos on CM went thru an approval process & there were no genitalia photos . . . . . Then they apparently eliminated that oversight, went to an auto-upload set-up, & are allowing all kinds of photos that would have gotten bounced previously.

Having had lots of pics (none with genitalia, either, mostly BDSM kinda stuff) bounce under the previous way of doing things, I can testify to the change in policy . .. . .

Anyways, Rhodes85, it didn't sound like you understood, so, FYI . . . . . .

No, I fully understand what you said. What i'm saying is, aside from that fact that not censoring shall we say 'questionable' pictures from being posted is a little odd, they are still liable for offensive/obscene pictures as well as copyright violations in pics that people post. The law specifically says they are, plus they are bound to enforce their own tos. I just find it odd that suddenly they would stop censoring pics to begin with. It makes me wonder just what exactly their admin staff does, because it doesn't seem to be anything else. Note that they still have the 'no explicit photos' warning posted on the upload page. In simple terms what I said about the CDA still applies, if anything they are risking any protection they had even more by doing it this way. Especially when cm freely admits to using peoples pictures for commercial uses that violate copyright laws, but i'm not getting into that here. My own opinion of why they stopped approving pics is because their lawyer told them they would be liable if anything happened to slip through that shouldn't.

Not that I particularly care in this matter as I don't post those kinds of images in my profile. However, their current setup does have one very VERY dangerous side effect: a much greater risk of some idiotic perv posting 'questionable' pics of underage people (ie: kiddie porn) and the simple fact is the site is liable for that under federal law. It is their responsibility to ensure that does not happen. Combine this with the fact that their reporting system is useless and accounts can't even be reported properly and you're asking for trouble at some point. The fact is if it happens and someone reports it to their webhost the site would be removed by said webhost and reported to the cops. Again, doesn't effect me as its not my responsibility. But I wouldn't want to see any site shut down over something like that.

My understanding of how the law works requires that CM do what they prudently can -- provide structures for tagging & removing legally obscene material (primarily the issue of concern is images of underage persons) & follow thru with those structures . . . . .

In my experience they do police, particularly issues regarding under-age minors . . . . . I've reported & watched be removed profiles that featured inappropriate age-related materials . . . . . & I've heard from a coupla fems about being required to provide proof of their adult age as they look very young . . . . . .

& the site's still here, I doubt that they've never had legally offensive materials uploaded in the 4+ years (6-ish?) they've been here. I believe they're simply required to remove the offending materials & report relevant details to the authorities, which I bet ya they do. Demonstration of reasonable attempts to meet the legal requirements goes a long way . . . . .

& the content here is pretty tame. Have ya ever gone to, say, XTube or SlaveFarm? Yowzah, especially SF . .. . Makes CM (& FL) look practically PG-13 . . . . .

It occurs to me that part of the reason why deleting spamsters & scamsters is de-prioritized on CM is because eliminating child porn is prioritized . . . . . & methinks they have a relatively small staff / limited work time available to 'do stuff' on either CM or CollarChat . .. . .

I have never liked crotch shots. I certainly have no interest in males but I find that pussy shots are rather tasteless too.

Now, artistic nudity is one thing. Crummy shots of genitals will never get my attention in a good way.
