And if I am thinking of a different person, I do appolgise.
I remember a very heated post some time ago such things and I was fairly certain it was him. But hey if I am mistaken I am mistaken

You know I was thinking back and isnt the op the guy who wanted an anorexic contortionist for a partner, and if she isnt like that already she has to be trainable

Yes.  Same person.  However, people change.  I haven't read his (or anyone's) posts recently.

The remembrances of the OP made me remember something he posted from another earlier thread:

quote:

ORIGINAL: Ialdabaoth

As an adamant transhumanist, I'd like to go on the record as saying that debilitation can be a choice. We have the right to control our abilities - or lack thereof. We have the right to choose our bodies, even if those bodies are less capable than others in certain tasks that most people consider "essential". If you don't own your own physical body - if you don't have the right to do with it as you please, give it away, or augment it to whatever suits your tastes - then what do you own?

And I wonder, what has/ has not happened to make him want to starve his physical body and choose to ignore his depression?

I can't help but wonder how much of what the OP is feeling is due to starving himself. Surely it must be having some effect on his mental state?

Considering you need amino acids to build neurotransmitters, as well as energy from fats and carbs to fuel brain cells...not to mention vitamins, it certainly doesn't help.

I'm going to go out on a limb here angelika,

I do Ial relatively well, though Master knows him better. I personally know how hard it is to GAIN weight when your body is pre-disposed to a slender built frame. So I honestly don't think he is starving himself at all, to fit some perfect image he has stuck in his mind.

As for his depression, well, I cant say anything on that either.

If memory serves Sunny, he said somewhere on this thread that he is because what right does he have to eat when there are children (people?) starving in the world.

That's a different sort of motivation, and has nothing to do with his body image. He's not doing it to fit a stereotype perfect image of beauty

Oh don't get me wrong Sunny, I'm not saying he is anorexic just that he's not eating properly and that it might have something to do with his state of mind....

Not all anorexia is driven by body image issues.

Perhaps I should clarify regarding the food thing:

I'm a starving college student.

I have literally less than a dollar to my name.

My caloric intake is purely a matter of budget; if it was a personal choice I wouldn't be complaining about it so much.

On that note, I just turned 35 on Sunday, and for my birthday I was taken out shopping. I got $100 worth of high-nutrition, low-cost food, that should keep me at the 1,500+ calorie range for the next few weeks (longer, if I can keep from sharing all my food all the time, but sharing is something of a emotional compulsion for me...)

Yes, same person.

Can I condemn you now for wanting (let's say) a faithful and honest partner or are those traits common enough that they are immune from negative critique based simply on what a person desires in a partner?

(Note: "You" directed at angelslave77's original comment, not RedMagic1's response, though it is the last quoted tidbit.)

I could ask the same question of every participant in a recent thread remarking how much they adored their bruises and what must have "happened" to them to make them like such things.
