My guess- is that the guard was only doing her assigned job description.

Your beef is with the company that SET this policy.

Most likely you were in an off limits portion of the store/office.

Maybe the mens room would be good to make a call.

on a side note, and in no way intended to feed the fodder....

there are alot of companies that prohibit the use of cellphones inside their buildings.  hospitals and government buildings come to mind first.

It goes further then that.  When on the clock the hotel I worked-  no cell- or any device.  Not even your break.  One would have to punch out- and due to other rule- leave the property.

They spell this out - in the rules- that all employees sign they received.

I have not seen his posts.

He sounds fun.   "Mobile"  I think they use that term in Ireland.

pahunkboy -> RE: Should Female security officers be allowed to stop male visitors from making a phone call? (9/28/2009 1:38:07 PM)

No they say "fón guthán" I see on web.

We invented the mobile phone in the UK, they steal our language when it suits them especially words such as 'fuck' pronounced fuog.

Regarding the OP: Have you never seen Die Hard, and how they made use of the Nakatomi phone system through clever monetary based terrorism?[8|]

But they don't allow cell phones in there either.

Obligatory on-topic response:  We don't even allow people who have a legitimate reason to be in our building (meaning, they are doing business there) to make phone calls in the reception area.  Why would we allow some guy walking on the street to just stroll on in and use our place as his temporary office?  Next you'll be angry that we didn't offer you coffee, a sharpened pencil, or a notepad.

Though if you're wearing boots, please don't let him spill a drink or coffee on them.

DesFIP -> RE: Should Female security officers be allowed to stop male visitors from making a phone call? (9/28/2009 3:01:52 PM)

It was a private building, they are in charge of security, meaning that they don't want strange people wandering in. Next time walk into a bank lobby.

But Kevin, your paranoia is hindering your life. You cannot get or hold a job or a relationship. Please get some help.

Kevin is a slave - and a good looking one too. Medications would mess him up. He requires a domme if he is to function properly. I have told you so before, Kevin: desire a suitable domme and the Divine will provide the opportunity for you to meet one.
