What I love about this lifestyle is there is acceptance for a myriad of ways of living the lifestyle. Within the SW Ontario community "slut" is not derogatory, as in I am a chain slut and a flogger slut and a cane slut.

Slut is a term of endearment among the crowd I socialise with [:)] We also have a large group of cuddle sluts, who'll cuddle anyone, anytime.

I like names like slut, whore, bitch etc, but not from everyone. Like I said above, they're terms of endearment that mean as much as darling, sweetie, or pet.

Question: "What do you call a male slut?"
The answer is: "You call him a 'stud'".

I call them sluts. Though I much prefer the term "manwhore". That's gotta be one of my favourite words.

My mind constantly fills with images and thoughts, ideas of what I can do, what I want to try, how I want to behave. My thoughts don’t necessarily co-incide with what society will accept. I have a lover – a damn good lover – who I choose to fuck on every possible occasion. Now I do not love this man – don’t in particular know him all that well – don’t know his full name or even phone numbers – only an email address and his home address when he is in town - but damn the sex is better than fantastic so I choose to fuck him every time he contacts me. Does this make me a wicked, wanton slut or just a confident sexually active woman – I guess that is just a matter of opinion.

In my opinion every word in the human language has a particular meaning for each individual who hears it - I mean your past experiences etc colour your perception and understanding of what is really meant by a particular word. I dont consider my choice in this situation to be wrong or immoral and I have been frank with a possible life partner that at this stage I am not prepared to give up my lover - not for them and when I do it will probably be when he chooses to move on.

Thank you for the food for thought.

pagan,

I think you have hit the nail on the head... no word is right or wrong, they are just words... it's what they mean to us that matters and makes it so we can or cannot accept the use of them in reference to us.

I myself like to call my girl a slut... there are more then one reason for this... but let me explain a few things... I may mean she is a slut, my slut when I call her that... does that mean she's a terrible person because I like her to be that way? no I think it makes her wonderful... and from her reaction I'd say she does too *G*

sometimes it's also like calling her sweetie or girl... both to me are terms of endearment... such wouldn't be the case with everyone, but such is the case for her.

Synocense -> RE: Being called "slut" (9/2/2004 11:56:28 AM)

I am more than likely repeating some things that have already been said, if so, forgive me. :)

I cannot imagine my Master calling me anything that would hurt my feelings. The reason? I know without a shadow of a doubt that he cares deeply for me and has no desire to hurt me intentionally. (Well.....THAT way anyhow. hehe) When I hear "C'mere my sweet lil slut" ...I know he has something in store for me or has been thinking naughty thoughts. How can THAT be bad? *lol*

i think it depends on the context it is coming from. It is difficult when just seeing it written to know the senders intent. Whereas, when it is heard in person, i think you automatically whether it is endearing or derogatory.

proudsub -> RE: Being called "slut" (9/2/2004 1:03:03 PM)

I love being called slut or bitch or whatever by my Master, but i wouldn't tolerate from anyone else.

subbiejenn -> RE: Being called "slut" (9/2/2004 1:57:47 PM)

When i first came into the lifestyle and someone called me "slut" i stopped, wasn't sure how i felt at first but it turned me on. *wow i am twisted huh?* I wouldn't want to be called "slut" or any other vanilla world bad name in public but in private it is different. i like being His little slut. Depends on the context and WHO is it coming from.

afmvdp -> RE: Being called "slut" (9/2/2004 2:53:19 PM)

Dear god my mind wanders...anyone else reading this just have the desire to start tossing out profanities? Then again...I'm an ass.

Heh. But whore get paid, right? We actually have a male buddy we call "slut" all the time and j has called him "manwhore" too but as a man it just wouldn't sound right coming from me. When we say it to him , it's not always a term of endearment. Of course I told him my little joke a few years ago and now he responds to "Slut!" ocasionally with "That's 'stud' thank you."

Still, the word slut is not generally used for men and when it is, it generally doesn't have much of a negative impact even in the vanilla world. Hence the point that a woman feeling insulted by the term or using it as an insult to another woman is kinda depending on expected (and sometimes outdated) gender expectations.

I just remembered a certain female friend back in the panhandle who called me "manwhore" quite a few times. I seem to remember feeling more proud than insulted :-)

i would think alot of men would think it is an honor to be called a stud. They would equate it to their sexual prowess. i know that sounds awful doesn't it.

afmvdp -> RE: Being called "slut" (9/2/2004 3:30:07 PM)

It all depends on the person though, to some words like: whore, slut, cunt, trollop, bawd, bimbo, chippie, easy, courtesan, floozy, harlot, hooker, hustler, loose, moll, nymph, party girl, scarlet, strumpet, tart, tramp, trollop, radish, cheap, jezebel, wanton, lecher, concubine, wench, lewd, libertine, rake, hedonist, fleshling, lascivious, carnal, babalon, impure, unchaste, chickenhead...I can go on and on here. haha (I needed an excuse) but anyway...like any word they just have the meaning you place upon them. A word is nothing more than utterance of phonetic segments chained together. Our emotional attachments to such, from years of random bagage only suffice to prolong our release from such walls, creating a weak and shallow frame from which to build upon. I think perhaps this is near and dear to me simply because it's one of the most important points I try to get across to the people who I am with.

Estring -> RE: Being called "slut" (9/2/2004 4:13:42 PM)

I don't think anyone enjoys being called birdbrain or chowderhead. Maybe if they have a 3 Stooges fetish. [:D]

Synocense -> RE: Being called "slut" (9/2/2004 4:18:42 PM)

If anyone.....anyone....said to me "C'mere my lil chippie" - I would probably be laughing too hard to respond. *grins*

TheLadyAlisad -> RE: Being called "slut" (9/2/2004 4:27:56 PM)

Have to admit, when I was a sub and my Master snuck up behind me and whispered that i was His lil slut, then grabed something sensitive, breast, thigh, neck, whatever, it made me melt inside. [:)] HOWEVER, anybody else calling me slut will probably get a laugh, an unkind remark concerning thier age vs. thier behavior and a bannishment from my personal space. [:'(] To me, its all in how its ment and WHO is doing the calling.

afmvdp -> RE: Being called "slut" (9/2/2004 5:34:43 PM)

Sort of the point really, someone calls you a daughter of a pistol and you'd look at them as if they just shit out their neck. Why is it that that derogatory insult (the female equating of son of a gun, meaning essentially that your mother was a prostitute that slept with a random, nameless sailor thus having you, a bouncing baby bastard) isn't affecting to you but something like cunt whore slut would? Not you in particular but anyone for that matter. It's just like racial slurs, only hold the meaning you give them.

The further we get from the source, the more defined our vision gets of the whole.

afmvdp -> RE: Being called "slut" (9/2/2004 5:39:24 PM)

I was about ready to tell a joke involving the three stooges and a tijuana show but it would likely toss this thread into the dumpster quicker than a lawyer to a car crash.

PassionateNights -> RE: Being called "slut" (9/2/2004 6:04:43 PM)

wow....all over a word? I'm not sure when political correctness came into this forum, perhaps i haven't been here long enough...

but come on..it's a word!........if two people find it erotic or workable for them...then so be it....just shaking my head and wondering

JadedSouls -> RE: Being called "slut" (9/2/2004 6:06:03 PM)

Dom/mes that don't know me at all and start off by calling me a slut get no brownie points with me.

I am a pain"slut" and I came by that name via 2 Dom/mes that I worked with the last 2yrs... I have a deep respect for them and I don't mind when they call me by that, among other things...

I think it depends on the person for me - If I don't know you from a hole in the wall and you start calling me a slut thinking you're all high 'n mighty/better than me, then I don't care for it at all.... If I know you, then I don't mind it at all if I am in the mindset for it at the time. I don't mind verbal abuse once in awhile but not all the time..

Hrmm.. I think I already confused myself in this post.. sorry!
