That's why the delay tactics.

I don't see the logic of your second sentence. Not really how things work in Washington! And the public option has been a sticking point. We'll see whether the bill moves along now.

If there is indeed public support how is any of this due to the Republicans, one way or the other. Isn't the real issue a lack of leadership in the Democratic party?

I don't want to start a new thread for this but I think its worth mentioning...

Pelosi Breaks Pledge to Put Final Health Care Bill Online for 72 Hours Before Vote

Speaker Nancy Pelosi's office tells THE WEEKLY STANDARD that the speaker will not allow the final language of the health care to be posted online for 72 hours before bringing the bill to a vote on the House floor, despite her September 24 statement that she was "absolutely" committed to doing so.

Here I agree. I wish someone would just step up and move this thing along.

I called this at the outset, nothing gonna happen before mid-terms on this.

I hope you're wrong. That will probably kill it--the Republican plan.

The majority of Americans, pick your poll, want something done (and want a public option).

I hope they pull together the strands, pass it without Republicans if that's how they want it, and get it signed, soon.

We just can't afford, economically, to allow this to continue year after year, decade after decade, costs ever rising.

Perhaps now that both the AARP and AMA are on board, things will start to move.

But costs cannot be "ever rising" year after year, decade after decade. It is IMPOSSIBLE. It is Obama's Big Lie in the health care debate. Anyone with even a rudimentary understanding of supply and demand should be able to figure out why its impossible.

And AARP (but not most seniors) and the AMA (but not most doctors) have been on board for a long time.
