ORIGINAL: ishyB ~FR~ Who here has never lied before? Did nobody here ever did stupid things as a kid? Did nobody here ever had a beer before there were old enough to drink? Did nobody here ever went to a bar before they were 21? Did nobody here ever drove a car when they had a couple beers? Did nobody here ever tried cigarettes before they were 21? Did nobody here ever tried drugs, or smoked pot? Did nobody here ever try to drive a car, on a dirt road, before they had a license? Did nobody here ever had sex before they reached the age of consent? Did nobody here ever saw a movie that they were to young to watch? Really, I feel like a terrible terrible person now, because I did at least some of the stuff on that list... As to "endangering" this site and everybody on it... It seems to me that publicly making this big of a circus about the whole issue is doing more to endanger the site than anything the OP ever did. This is untrue. We did not break a law or tos and the thread is still as it was, so if there is something we have done to threaten this site, you can bet they will remove it and correct us. She never went to flaunt the fact that she was underage before she was pressed publicly for an answer on it. If the real, serious, concern was that she might have been underage, it seems to me that, in the name of the safety of the site, such a matter should have been handled privately by those concerned about it... perhaps followed by reporting the issue to the CM administration. That might have been how you handled it, but not required. Further, as to endangering men and being "jailbait." There are many places within the US and the rest of the world where the age of sexual consent is not the same as the age upon one reaches maturity. In many countries and States, the age of consent is 17, or even as low as 16 (Alabama, Alaska, Arkansas, Connecticut, District of Columbia, Georgia, Hawaii, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Kentucky, Maine, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, Minnesota, Mississippi, Montana, Nevada, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New Mexico, North Carolina, Ohio, Oklahoma, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, South Carolina, South Dakota, Vermont, Washington, West Virginia for example, or in the whole of Canada.) Also, in many places, if the adult engaging in sexual relations with a person under the age of consent has reasonable grounds to belief that said minor was old enough to consent (reasonable grounds being things like the minor looking older than they are, and them lying about their age) then the adult will not face criminal charges. Perhaps some people here are dramatising the whole issue a bit? The age of concent of a minor may be with another miner, I do not know, but could be different with an adult. You need to consider that this is online. It would depend on where the site was and crossing what state or national lines or borders and maybe even the use of a messenger service and where they are based in, etc. If an adult male has sex with a person under eighteen and was lied to, that might be all well and fine in the right situation, but right situations can go wrong and have and men have done time for it. They should not be put in that postition. Period. It is wrong and besides that, it can give real victims (both sides of this) a harder time of things in being believed. As for dramatising it all... I guess you have never been to court on some of these cases or knew anyone falsely accused becasue of a silly girl wanting what she wanted and not wanting to get caught being a bad girl. That is not to say that I don't think the OP made a mistake, she did... only, I feel most of us out there might have made some mistakes growing up, right? Even if the mistake is overlooked, her attitude about it being no big deal was an important factor in what people said and how they repsonded. To make light of it all wasn't productive and only caused many to determine she was being foolish about a serious subject that could have brought this site down. So sorry if we don't take that lightly. As for none of us ever doing anything wrong, you know that isn't the case, but when you narrow it down to... inticing an adult at a bdsm site by lying about our age and getting naked on cam with him and putting him and the site at risk... THAT is far different and not so many of us have done things that risked the rest of someone else's life. Stupid is stupid... but... you can't tell me a person even at the age of seventeen, past the age of knowing it all, that they don't know messing with adults will get them into trouble and just what kind of trouble that is. When we did things wrong... we knew we were wrong and what we were doing. It is one thing to make mistakes that can cost you, another thing that can cost someone else. When did we stop holding teens accountable and not teach them to think or pay a price? So maybe, just maybe, she isn't the worst person on the planet after all... I wish you all well, ishy
