Porn is great for a kick start, but personally i have never been turned on by a guy talking like a porn star while in the middle of things, actually, it kinda turns me off and i go into auto pilot "oh yea oh yea give it to me baby that's it harder now come on make me cum!" The whole time i'm thinking about my to do list, laundry that needs done, what i'm going to make for dinner tomorrow, going to the grocery so i can make dinner tomorrow, etc. randomly thinking, is he done yet? i have other things i really need to be doing. I think the key for women being turned on or not is if it's genuine. Whatever the guy is saying/asking/commenting on - if it's something he 'thinks' he's supposed to say ( a line from a porno) then I would venture to say it'll leave his partner flat as opposed to something he wants to say in the heat of the moment. So if you're playing a part you saw in a porn film it usually feels blah and the woman wonders if she's an interchangable part in the scenario. If he's responding to HER and letting her know how much she turns him on it has a much different feel to it.

I don't know that porn has made men "bad" at sex; I think an awful lot of guys are bad at it, no matter what (and a number of women, too). The worst effect porn probably has is creating unreasonable expectations for people.

Semi-related topic: I heard on the radio the other day, that women test almost identical to men, in terms of how quickly they become aroused, watching porn. Interesting...

is funny, I could never get aroused if Ron Jeremy was in the scene...still cant, yet I think as a personality/character/person he is most excellent, but definitely a turn off during porn.

I've only experienced one porn-star wannabe with a scripted orgasm... "oh yeah, oh yeah, oh yeah, OH OH YEAH BABY OH YEAH!!"   I nicknamed him Mr. Kool-Aid.

Porn is, well, visual fantasy. Even if you are limber enough to attempt some of those positions, it's usually just not worth it. When you do have really truly good sex, it's nice to not have to worry about what you look like - but I still leave the lights on.
