LinnaeaBorealis I think right before this season it was, they did a show of people who won and others who lost a lot of weight, out of the ones they have shown only 1 guy (the winner from season 1) gained back all his weight. These people to me are taught to keep the weight off on the ranch, the ranch and game aren't for people to lose weight like normal people but its and intense bootcamp type where they are constantly learning what to do and what not to do, and they are completely monitored by doctors. Which is why i think its fine and some of these people can't afford NOT to lose the weight or weight and them doing it this way is more healthy than the constant trying they may do and never lose what they need to. IN many ways, its healthier to me than the bypass surgery many more people than have been on TBL have had done. Its not that they just workout all the time, i read someplace that they work out 4-6 occassionally 7-8 hours a day in different ways and throughout the day from early morning to late at night sometimes and i also believe they have counseling etc. They are taught what to eat and how to eat and are closely monitored. Do some gain the weight back, yeah they do, or they gain some back, but to me, out of all these 8 seasons, if 1/3 - 1/2 of these people maintain their healthy weight and more active lifestyle --- its worth it. YOu can't save everyone, but what you can do is give people the tools they need, and if they choose not to maintain or keep it up thereafter, then there is only so much you can do to help people. But i don't believe THAT many people regain the weight to the significance of what they were. Plus, i think as seasons go on, they keep bringing people back to make appearances or talk to the people etc, which i think also helps them maintain. I personally am just soo glad Ally Vincent is not shoved down our throats over and over anymore. God i couldn't stand her lol. I love the idea of the ranch lol. The fact that i believe they also get a stipend and a chance at $250K as well as free training with two of the best trainers out there, as well as free gym and food and being allowed to work out all day lol and are forced to lol. I wish i could do it lol. The only gripe i have about the show is i wish they would show more of the teaching than the working out because i think it does give a wrong impression that all they do is work out, but they are being counseled and get to relax and taught things. angel
