Simon, if everyone providing personal anecdotes is providing data that falsifies your theory, perhaps your theory is not as strong as you thought it was. You are the only person who has provided no data. You stated a sweeping generalization, and provided nothing to back it up. You are getting pushback because you are pontificating and "debating" while other people are having a conversation about the reality of their lives. Frankly, it's a good example of why younger women hit on men like me, instead of men like you. When I say something, it's usually well thought out, and sometimes it even carries depth and weight. By contrast, you seem as though you are trying ideas on for size. That's ok, but don't expect a lot of women -- sub, domme or nilla -- to find that quality as attractive as someone who is clear about the world, and able to express himself in a mature fashion. You've missed the point entirely. Looking around at profiles, I've seen that lots of girls seem to have a cut-off point at around 25. or 30. Or higher. Therefore, assuming things stay the same, in ten years or so I'll be well within that range. Don't misunderstand, I've never said those subs don't like me. I'm just outside of their dating range age, so I'm not going to bother trying to approach them. That's all. If someone says, "Sorry, only guys 25-37," it'd be silly for me to pursue anything wouldn't it? I can at least respect their wishes. And, yes, in fact you're quite right. I've received a few messages and views on my profile thanks to this thread. So, thank you. The attention is nice, and it seems a few people understood what I was trying to say.

[:D] hee hee Hehe part of me feels bad, because I know that pointing out someone's personality flaws is pretty much guaranteeing that they'll never admit they were wrong, but then again part of me hopes that in a few days/weeks/months whatever he'll be in a situation IRL that reinforces this and he'll think "hey wait a minute maybe I am acting like a prat" and in that case it's actually kinder to have told him the truth rather than just ignored him and brushed him off as hopeless. Thing is I have known a bunch of guys like this, the "girls won't date me cuz I'm too (young/broke/short/fat)" type, and it always makes me sad because while it is true that there are some girls who will see that as a deal breaker, there are also other girls who would be willing to look past it but the whole self pity trip basically annihilates any interest that could have formed. Also, Simon.... If a woman says, "Thanks, but I'm looking for someone older, no offense," what she often means is, "I'm looking for someone who acts older than you are acting." Going the other direction, I had a relationship in 2008 with a sub I met on Alt who was 26 (I was 40), and posted on her profile that she didn't want to hear from anyone over the age of 30, no matter what. I wrote her anyway, and explained why she interested me. She responded by saying how much she had been fantasizing about being with a creative man. We started dating. I don't act old and stodgy, so she overlooked the age difference, and started flirting. People say you're only as old as you feel. Maybe, but in the dating world, the babes tend to think you're only as old as you act.
