FR

I probably read the op wrong because after reading most replies I became a little confused. I took the OP to be a little more mocking of the way that other people do take it seriously, about the way that maybe sometimes we seem to forget that this stuff, all of it is meant to be about making life more enjoyable not spending hour upon hour stressing about the fact that we aren't doing it in the right way. I don't think Maria needs reassurance that she fits in but instead is asking people to take a step back from pontificating about these relationships and actually enjoy them. Of course I may be totally off base.

Not at all lillyofthevalley... I am mocking nobody in this lifestyle and Im sorry that you have read my post that way. I take my lifestyle deadly serious in that I am in and amongst all of this 24/7. During that 24/7 I am just me... perfectly natural, perfectly normal and perfectly comfortable with my partner. I live the life lilly but I live the life perhaps differently to the majority. I haven't fine tuned anything, I don't intend to because I love the mix and match according to mood.
I have great respect for anyone who has found a lifestyle within the context of BDSM and who can live it and embrace it even if I often don't understand a lot of it. Whilst I accept that I don't understand the head space of a slave, I don't expect them to understand my head space either and if I were to make an opinion on them then I would probably be wrong. They would probably be wrong on an opinion of me.

I have explained myself as well as I can and I can't keep explaining myself. Away from this thread I get asked a lot of questions about 'who am I' 'what am I' and I explain often to get back a reply of 'oh your just a player then!' That is the type of opinionated response that I find so objectionable.

Firstly knowing your posts and having spoken to you I didn't mean to use the word mocking as though you were being insulting. Anywho I don't want to ask you to explain youself or anything, but if you went from one oriantation (however strict it was or wasnt) to another then there surely was some fine tuning, maybe you do not see it that way, and I can understand why. If you have never fine tuned anything then yes you are different from the majority, not simply in 'this lifestyle' but in life. Most people try and fail and then try something else, looking to carve their own place in the world and find their own piece of happiness.

I am sorry that I misread your OP and I think I have a better grasp of where you are coming from. I do hope that the post wasn't about validation thought (which I don't think it was)

"So what is wrong with taking all of this light heartedly? Perhaps nothing wrong? but I get the impression that if your having too much fun then your probably not doing it properly."

I often tell people if they're not having fun they're doing it wrong. Don't worry about what other people are doing, or that they worry about what you're doing. And ignore the idiots, I say that plenty too.

 The switching?

So you're not ALL one thing or the other? ...... Neither am I. In fact ...... I'm not really anything other than* incredibly curious* and aware enough to choose something that suits me.

Most people aren't a *proper* anything according to various *others*. I haven't set out to be *proper*.......I set out to be content.

Regards, agirl

You have to build your relationship together in your own way. Your way may not be someone else's way but, why should you care? Do not follow the pack, follow your own path. Set your own heading and sail off that way.

Blissfully happy? Then why feel the need to fit in or change things? As long as you, and yours are happy with your relationship, no one else matters.

Good luck,
~Lashra

Well said, Lashra.

I really do not feel like someone qualified to talk about quite a bit of stuff here on this site but I feel I do know this; You can tell your right place by how it feels to you. Move toward what feels good and right to you and away from the rest. There are many good posts here and I admire you posting this OP, I find vulnerability very inspiring and a sign of strength.
