I already stated that by saying you get to choose whether their limits are compatible with yours.

That means, in case you didn't figure it out, you can choose whether or not to have a relationship with that person based on their limits. However, you still do not get to choose which limits they have, and which they keep.

I prefer getting to know her and her basic needs then granting her limits I will uphold, that establishes my authority from the start.

notice i said grant

and if you know her well enough and feel she is worth enough too you to be generous you still establish authority from the beginning
