As many times as Rush has made hateful, bigoted remarks concerning others, and his supporters have passed them off as "jokes," I don't see any reason at all that it's out of line for people to make jokes about his misfortune. After all, according to him and his followers, that's one of his favorite forms of humor.

So if someone else does something bad, it's ok for me to do it too, because they did it first?
You honestly believe that?

You make a good point here, but I see it differently. What possible reason would I have for wanting to treat him better than he treats other people?

The way I look at it, the man makes his living being a nasty, spiteful, vicious, mean-spirited prick who never hesitates to lie about people in order to advance his political agenda, or ridicule people who are less fortunate than he or who are experiencing extreme difficulties in their lives - so he has no right to expect anyone to treat him any better than he treats others. I'm sick and tired of these nasty, lying conservative hate-mongers treating other people with total disrespect, and then whining that it's somehow unfair for people to treat them the same way they consistently treat others. Fuck 'em. They set the tone of the debate, and they can't have it both ways. They made it a war, they picked the rules by which they wish to fight that war, and this is what they chose.

Its amazing how well you're describing yourself in this typical hate-spewing rant of yours.

Wow... Rush was released, and made a statement about how good the health care system is.  Does he realize that the proposed overhaul is not driven by the needs of people like him who are worth over $100 mil, but the folks who aren't?

Lucylastic -> RE: Rush taken to hospital (1/2/2010 7:06:11 AM)

Kinda reminds me of marie antoinettes famous caring words

Sanity -> RE: Rush taken to hospital (1/2/2010 7:17:55 AM)

In his press conference (which I linked to above) he noted that he wasn't treated any better or worse than anyone else through his ordeal, so your question has already been answered.

kittinSol -> RE: Rush taken to hospital (1/2/2010 7:46:56 AM)

Riiiiiiiiiiiiiight. And the fact that he doesn't need health insurance, because he can just afford to pay whatever hospital bill he gets, has NOTHING  to do with the quality of the care he received. After all, we all know how fair the insurance companies are when it comes to forking out reimbursements, or even how they never intervene when it comes to authorising treatment in the first place [8|] .

DarkSteven -> RE: Rush taken to hospital (1/2/2010 7:49:26 AM)

No, it hasn't.  The proposed overhaul was never claimed to improve the quality of healthcare, simply to make it available to more people.    He DID get treated better than people who would be denied service.

Really? I see it as an amazingly accurate description of Rush and his ilk. Hmmm perception is a funny thing isn't it?

Lucylastic -> RE: Rush taken to hospital (1/2/2010 7:54:51 AM)

I wonder how long he had to wait to be seen in the ER??
as we only have his "word" ..
Ill believe the Pres is a mooozlem before I trust one word of drivel sliming out of his mouth

Is that the way it is in France? Oh, I feel so terrible for you. Here in the United States no one is denied emergency care for things like heart attacks and strokes, etcetera.

So no, Rush Limbaugh was treated just like anybody else would be.

zephyroftheNorth -> RE: Rush taken to hospital (1/2/2010 7:57:35 AM)

Sure, anyone with millions to spend to get that care. Sadly the average American cannot afford the care he got.

Sanity -> RE: Rush taken to hospital (1/2/2010 7:57:56 AM)

You make a habit of listening to Rush all of the time do ya? [:D]

PolyVinyl -> RE: Rush taken to hospital (1/2/2010 8:01:07 AM)

There was undoubtedly no hesitation in getting him taken care of though.... getting a touch of gangrene in my heel due to my diabetes opened my eyes to how slow insurance is, even when my dad pays for a quality plan, on time and everything. I'm not going to be so bold as to say everyone has that happen...but the fact that it happens at all (the delay I mean) implies that there is a problem somewhere in the chain.

PolyVinyl -> RE: Rush taken to hospital (1/2/2010 8:03:36 AM)

actually, Sanity, can I ask you something? I'm guessing that you're a conservative... what do you think should happen w/ healthcare? like if it were a perfected system, what would it be like, in your opinion?

Sanity -> RE: Rush taken to hospital (1/2/2010 8:06:04 AM)

Thats why god invented insurance. Pay attention in school, keep the tracks off of your arms and keep your nose clean and odds are you'll have some of it.

Ambulance-chasing lawyers are making a mess of things though, driving up costs terribly, a few things like that. There are some problems that need to be addressed, but socialism isn't the answer to anything. The people using health care to push socialism on us have a political agenda, and they are using people's suffering.

Because why not give everyone free food, too? its just as necessary as free medical care is. Same with free housing. Why should anyone ever have to work, ever? For anything?

The government should just provide us with nanny service 24/7. You need your tv channel changed, and you can't quite reach the remote? Call the government, they'll take care of it.

Why not?

No, I try to avoid throwing up whenever possible [;)]

Sanity -> RE: Rush taken to hospital (1/2/2010 8:08:18 AM)

There isn't a perfect system, there never will be. Even under nanny care where you sign your life over to big brother there will be massive problems that never get fixed.

zephyroftheNorth -> RE: Rush taken to hospital (1/2/2010 8:09:33 AM)

Sanity, I'm guessing that even with insurance, the average American couldn't even dream of getting the care Rush and all his millions got. Add in needing treatments approved and it gets even worse. Add to that the fact that the rich and well-connected go to the front of the line and well the average American is left in the dust.

Sanity -> RE: Rush taken to hospital (1/2/2010 8:09:56 AM)

Then you don't know what you're talking about, do you.

Riiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiight. That's why non-millionaires regularly go bankrupt because of a single emergency hospital visit.

You're full of it, and you know it. Limbaugh got the preferential treatment his mountains of dollars provide him. And so it should be, in the land of the free, right?
