ORIGINAL: lally2 it equates to the relationship, BDSM is an activity (quote osf) D/s is part of the BDSM acronym, but Ds doesnt have to be part of the BDSM that you enjoy. from my understanding there is topping and bottoming that is the 'other' aspect of Ds that people enter into with each other who otherwise might have no other relationship with each other. within the BDSM acronym you have B - bondage, DS - dominance and submission, SM - sado/masochism. strictly speaking you include Ds when you refer to BDSM. looking at it that way though, what it doesnt include is Ms (?) its a 'fits all' term to encorporate everyone who basically enjoys all or some of the BDSM menu. Hi Lally and Happy New Years!!1 Actually when I used BDSM, i was thinking of it as a means to explore the inner child. There isn't no Dom/sub or Master/slave in the BDSM ... My purpose was to use it as a method. B=bondage, D=Discipline, S=sadism and M=mascoism(sp) to tired to spell right.:) happy new year. im pretty sure i saw the BDSM thing broken down to encorporate Ds too, but i could easily have misread it
