osf -> harrassment on the threads (1/6/2010 10:15:34 PM)

has any one been harrased by other members of cm in threads they have started or contributed too

tos, As with the rest of the Forum, it is asked that participants refrain from insults, flames, and generally offensive behavior.

sappatoti -> RE: harrassment on the threads (1/6/2010 10:39:14 PM)

At one time or another, every one of us was new to the boards and had to endure some thickening of the skin to endure. Doesn't make it right but that's the nature of this type of communications media as far back as I've been using computers (1977 if you need to know).

If you wish to not see all posts from one or more participants, you can hide their entries by clicking on the "Hide" feature that appears in the lower-left corner of each post. As this will hide every post made by that person, some threads may appear to read disjointed or out of whack. Please note that although hiding their posts will work, the system will not hide any parts of their messages that may be included as quote-backs inside posts made by other people.

If you feel that individual posts are too offensive, you have the option of using the "Report" feature that is found in the bottom right-hand corner of each post. Once you click on that a pop-up form will appear where you can supply info on why you feel that post is offensive. This form is sent to the moderation staff who will take a look and make a determination at their own schedule. If the post is offensive in their determination, they may delete it from the thread.

If you feel another user is giving you problems in general, you can send a message to the Support staff thusly: visit the CollarMe page and scroll all the way to the bottom. Click on the "Support" link and in the resulting form, choose "Problem with another user" from the drop-down suggestions in the Subject field. Type in your complaint then send off the form.

it seems their modus operandi is to bait you then hit the button , i hate to report anyone but i guess i'll have to just to defend myself, i find the whole idea distasteful

AquaticSub -> RE: harrassment on the threads (1/6/2010 10:44:38 PM)

Yes I have been harassed. I reported it and the mods took care of it. If you feel you are being harassed, I strongly encourage you to report it and let the moderators do their thing.

If I may offer this for your consideration...

If the hunter is putting out bait and the prey snatches it, that's the natural order of things. However, if the prey realizes the bait for what it is and still takes it, who's the unwise one? The hunter who keeps setting the bait knowing its prey has not shown any self-restraint to keep from taking it or the prey who, knowing it is bait and will be trapped, does not exercise a bit of self-restraint and continues to take the bait?

The Terms of Service that appears at the bottom of the page was last revised on 12/26/2007.  However, between then and now, there have been acknowledgments by the Administration in these forums that what is allowed changes over time, and has indeed, changed over time.  Since you've been here less than 3 months, perhaps it would have served you better to spend more time looking around before jumping into the deep end of the pool.

When you continue to get the same response to what you put out, it tends to be an indication that you need to re-evaluate what you're putting out there.

it's been my experience that they continue to disrupt threads they don't start until it's a shambles

you see the same mob thread hopping

this is not a whine, it's an accurate observation

i was actually told by one that they will straighten me out and make me a good member of cm

AquaticSub -> RE: harrassment on the threads (1/6/2010 11:05:57 PM)

Again, if you feel threatened, stalked or harassed please report it to the moderators. They are very good at getting to the bottom of these problems.

actually i have been on cm a number of years under another nic and was away for a bit, and this harassment is new to me

my fan club has complained about the number of a topic of my posts, it's as if they think they run the site and in my opinion as long as the get away with this behavior the do

lusciouslips19 -> RE: harrassment on the threads (1/6/2010 11:08:05 PM)

He likes the attention too much.

sappatoti -> RE: harrassment on the threads (1/6/2010 11:08:08 PM)

You must do what you feel is right, of course. Presenting your case to me isn't helpful to you as I'm not a moderator. I'd present your case to the mods via the Support channel and let them take it from there.

This is worded to suggest you are falling for peoples' bait, harrassing them in return, and then they 'hit the button' and report you.

If you don't want to be reported, don't harrass people.

osf -> RE: harrassment on the threads (1/6/2010 11:08:54 PM)

anyway i'd like others to give their experiences of harrassment and we can compare notes

You're defending your position instead of listening and actually considering what people are saying.  If you constantly feel harrassed, step back and look at your role in the situation.

And yes, you are whining about it.  It doesn't matter if it is true or not, particularly since that is a matter of opinion and not necessarily fact... but you making a whiny post about it and then continuing to whine in response to others does not serve you well.

they act like a swarm of mosquitoes

anyway i want to hear from others

i don't want to go on and on with my experiences

there are others

CalifChick -> RE: harrassment on the threads (1/6/2010 11:11:38 PM)

Oh wait, pardon me, I get it now.  You just want to stir up dissension on the board.  Good luck with that.

And as it has been said many, many times over the years... use the REPORT feature here for things that happen here; use the SUPPORT button on the personals side for things that happen over there.

in the mean time i want this to be a forum for others

This is not said to be mean or drive you away.

However, if you don't like how the forums are run, it would more a productive use of your time to find a website that is to your liking than to start threads complaining. If you use the search function, you'll find many, many, many threads have been posted over the years that are identical to this one. The moderators do not seem to have agreed with those posters so I wouldn't hold my breath that things are going to change now.

lusciouslips19 -> RE: harrassment on the threads (1/6/2010 11:15:44 PM)

I dont see any other whining Doms coming here to complain?
