Well when a nice 20 - 25 year old comes on at you, take a firm grib on your wallet

So, as one gets older, the sorts of people that one is attracted to is supposed to get older, as well.

Well if this is true, let me calculate. From before the onset of puberty, I was hot for 40'ish+ men. Now that I'm pushin' 40 myself, I guess I should now only be attracted to 80-90+ year olds? Nope, this theory doesn't hold water in my experience at all..........luci

The natural tendency is to continue to (attempt to) promote ones own genomes into the population, using those most close to optimum age of procreation.

I'm with EbonyWood ... the natural tendency of our instinctive sexual urges is to desire that which will provide the best chance of offspring surviving to reproductive age themselves.

We've lost sight of that goal - but our genes haven't (it is instinct, after all). I'm sure of the goal itself, but, I'm not sure of what comprises that goal.

There are slight variations on our instinct, and certainly proclivities exist.

But, for the most part, I'd assume men will prefer something like
- younger (better chance of ovulation)
- attractive (better chance of offspring being successful themselves)
- curvy (hips and thigh fat are good for the baby's nutrition I guess - certainly tits "appear" to be for milk ... but in reality, human tits sizes are not)
- enjoy being treated like a dog (ok ... ok ... I added that one in 'cuz it's MY proclivity!)

While women, I'm assuming, would prefer different characteristics
- taller (better chance of meeting an alpha male better able to provide food & shelter & protection)
- attractive (same as above)
- strong & socially adept (strength in self and strength in numbers are good for a man's chance of providing food, shelter, & protection)
- huge penis size (ok ... ok ... I threw that one in because I WISH women would choose men based primarily on cock size!)

Summary ... perfectly natural to be sexually attracted to young'ish women of child-bearing age ... (notice I didn't say 18 ... as 18 is an arbitrarily large number which we speak of for legal reasons ... the true age of child-bearing, especially in this well-fed nutritionally early ovulating society ... is vastly younger I dare say.

Actually no. I find it frustrating that guys my age want young things when I seek guys my age.
Now I go 10 years older and 10 younger.

Its not that I cant get a young thing. There are more young guys beating at my door than ones my own age. But frankly, I seek someone who has had the same life experiences as me. Someone who remembers Dean Martin, Jimmy Durante and that Appollo 13 was not just a movie.

What is one supposed to do when one discovers, 15 years on down, that one still only tends to find 18-24 year olds attractive?

Awww, lushie, come on now...  You can't deny that you wouldn't like some cute 18 year old cabana boy at the end of a leash as your own personal playtoy...  I sure can't.

I agree. Men like the OP don't stop to think that it goes both ways. Older women often prefer younger men. I know I do. There is so much to be said for chemistry. I get approached by younger men all the time and I like it. I find them more attractive, more open, more kinky, more appreciative, less bitter, more honest.

I don't necessarily need an 18 year old, but men 10 years younger at least, are best for me. This is not to say I would not be with an older guy, but have not found one yet that's been as hot and intense as my younger dudes.

this slave was only attracted to the 18-24 y/o men when she was 13-15. it has worked that way as this slave has aged...the most attractive men, to this slave have been at least 5-10 years OLDER than whatever her age has been.

My Sir is 16 years older than me, I love it that way. He thinks I am young, and at 43, I *love* that. . I have always been attracted to older, very powerful, aggressive Dominant males, and he certainly fulfills those needs. Older men are generally more financially secure and successful, and I have no problem admitting that I look for that in a partner as well.

I don't get the wanting of a man that is more than a few years younger but that's of course just me. Really I think part of that is I get hot for the whole Daddy thing sometimes and I just like the look of being on the arm of a distinguished sexy older man. It's a big turn on for me.

I have a definite preference for younger men, and I don't care what anyone else finds appropriate. I've dated mature 20-year olds and emotionally stunted 60-year olds.

Change '43' to '44' then I am in full agreement with Aynnes entire post.

Actually studies have found that men and women both tend to find people that are their contemporaries attractive as mates, but if you are talking just sex, men tend to find young ones attractive...

The study I am referring to took photos of people as though they would be doing the match.com thing and asked which people they would like to spend time with, you know, date...

They're the ones you find online about a year later, whining about how immature their heart's desire acts.

It is one thing to have an appreciation of beautiful young women but it is an entirely different thing if a person
does not progress beyond the mind set of an 18 year old. A person that does not show signs of mental growth
suffers from arrested mental development. It should be obvious that what a mentaly retarted person should seek
for this condition is a Dominant Female to be your mommy figure and beat some sense into you....or your friendly
neighborhood psycho-therapist. Slow learning people also need a father figure for guidance, in that case you should
call A Sadistic Plumber to get your mind out of the gutter.

Speaking only for myself-

If I were looking to make new babies, I might be in the market for a 20 something. But since I am done with that part of my life, I prefer to have someone who really understands who I am, and can be a companion.

I admire young bodies- they look marvelous. I would love to go to bed with a young girl, but I wouldn't want to wake up with one.

My preferred age in men has never changed.
It's not ageism.
It's choice.
