Nonsense. We are "built" to be attracted to those who are most likely to produce healthy offspring, and that is clearly partially related to youth.


If this was true then no one would be attracted to anyone my age. No one would stay married either.

No idea what will happen when I'm older than this age group, I don't think I'm cut out for cougaring.

Actually I think it is fairly common to find women attracted to older men, I know I am and I don't give a toss how many coins they have in their pocket.

I never understand why threads like this always turn into so many people generalising about younger folks, there are always one or two regular offenders. You so rarely find a similar thing happening in these threads about older people.

But fuck it, lets stick with stereotypes, it is so much easier to date people my age because the old shriveled up crones are so bitter you will be mentally tortured for the rest of your life. My advice then is all you older men get a nice outfit, sort out your hair and go hang at the local night club in the hope you attract one of us supple youths.

(Just so people know I don't actually mean that, it just seems so easy for people to belittle my age group, also not really aimed at CD more of a general frustration)

You have a source for these statistics, or are you just making them up as you go?

I find the effects of time, of life, of experiences on a man's face to be FAR more physically attractive than a baby-faced 20-something. 

What I do NOT find attractive in a person is someone who is looking for someone in an age range of "18 to 50"... if they think that someone who is 18 is just as compatible with them as a woman in her 40's, then clearly they are NOT the person for me.

That's been the majority of my experiences as well.  Will this change as i age? Guess i'll find out when i get there. i've found that the young ones i interact with are less attractive the more i converse with them and the older ones more attractive the more i converse with them. i'd question my own motives if i dated someone much younger than me.  Not saying that there is always a correlation between age and maturity or that i'm particularly mature myself, mind you;  just that i imagine a relationship to be healthiest when the participants are near the same maturity level. Age may have nothing to do with it except on a superficial level but it's there as a possible benchmark nonetheless.

Status: offline 		naturally I believe men may desire the younger females for the mere biological reason of producing offspring. We are more nature oriented than we tend to think of ourselves. Mother Nature is a Whore.;) Although I have been told by an older Dom that he prefers women older than in their young 20's basically because he doesn't have anything to talk about with a woman so young. He is in his 50's.

For me, I take em older every time....younger men although perhaps attractive I am not as attracted to as a man who is older than me. With women I tend to lean toward my age give or take 5 or 6 yrs.

Status: offline 		Maturity isn't the only issue with dating young women. 18-20something year olds are going through a lot of "what the hell am I doing with my life" transitions, and most 40 and 50something year olds aren't (hopefully). I'm definitely attracted to older men (they're better in bed), but one of the problems I constantly run up against is just that we're in entirely different stages of our lives.

Of course, all of this is moot if you just want someone to hook up with :)
