Whoops! Double post.

CarrieO -> RE: FAQ Setup (1/25/2010 5:35:22 AM)

Just a quick question, Domin8tingUrDrmz, when you say etiquette, would that also include any leather protocol or just strickly etiquette/manners?  I know very little about protocol in the leather sense but I seen where LadyPact and a few others have mentioned it and just thought it might be of interest.  Of course, each Lady has her own approach to D/s-M/s and BDSM.

Kudos to those who are working on this...not an easy task as there are so many topics that, in my opinion, could be included.  Maybe a Domme booklist much like the one ResidentSadist started HERE  or maybe he'd be open to having his included.

Domin8tingUrDrmz -> RE: FAQ Setup (1/25/2010 5:39:25 AM)

QueenRah,

I think there is a section for this listed in the outline. I haven't come up with much in that area, so please feel free to post something toward it, it couldn't hurt. While the FAQ was initially Sylvere's idea, she did encourage suggestions.

CarrieO -> RE: FAQ Setup (1/25/2010 5:40:25 AM)

In keeping with the idea of etiquette... here's a link to some guidelines for "netiquette" that might be helpful

Domin8tingUrDrmz -> RE: FAQ Setup (1/25/2010 5:42:02 AM)

Carrie,

I was only putting together information regarding Forum Etiquette and CMail Etiquette. However, I would love to learn more about Leather Protocol and High Protocol homes. Whether or not they are relavant for the FAQ I think we could let a majority come to a determination.

I've clicked on the link in ResidentSadist's signature, and the link you provided. Both times I was taken to the Forum Directory main page and no link was to be found [:(]. I do think it would be a good idea to include.

QueenRah -> RE: FAQ Setup (1/25/2010 6:42:24 AM)

That's what I meant, "netiquette." I know nothing about leather protocol, either. (Not my mileage) I was replying to the thread, Domin8ing. Don't always post to the original poster, just jumping on to last post.

Domin8tingUrDrmz -> RE: FAQ Setup (1/25/2010 7:05:19 AM)

No worries. I was just awake and thought I could help with your question. I didn't think it was directed at me.

FR

Sorry I wasn't able to contribute to this as much as I would have liked to yesterday but things here got in the way.

I haven't seen the final version of the FAQ but I would very much like to add that I think it's important to do a search string for many so that the FAQ remains current. I'm not sure if this was included. If not, please let me know and I can code these in.

Domin8tingUrDrmz -> RE: FAQ Setup (1/25/2010 9:46:07 AM)

I have no idea the amount of information Sylvere has received regarding the FAQ. I have contributed to "common complaints" and "etiquette". I'm sure Sylvere would appreciate any links you provide. She did say she would post the FAQ for review, hopefully she will have a chance to do that soon so we can add more as needed.

Sounds good, but I can't provide the links until I see the FAQ because those links will be contextual.

I'll wait patiently :-)

Wow, what a great link!  I'm *so* bookmarking this and including it in the FAQ.  Ftr, when I mentioned etiquette, I was specifically thinking of forum etiquette as opposed to Leather etiquette.  I'm not a leather person myself, but it's my understanding that formal protocols vary from region to region.

It might be worthwhile to start some threads for the express purposes of including them in the FAQ.  I think it was QueenRah who suggested a thread along the lines of FemDoms: the Fantasy vs. the Reality.  I think this is a great idea and would like to see more threads like it.

I say go for it.

I'm nowhere near the final version.  I'm just getting started on editing it all together.  You have plenty of time to contribute in any way you'd like.  I plan to post the first rough draft here for review and suggestions for revisions/additions.  So take whichever section you'd like to work on, throw some links together in a Word document, and then PM me so I can send you my private email addy.

No worries. I'll add when done. You'll understand why after.

Also, please add this. :-) http://www.collarchat.com/fb.asp?m=3027734

LadyPact -> RE: FAQ Setup (1/25/2010 2:06:52 PM)

One thing that I'm noticing about the topics, is that many of them are focused on submissives, rather than the Dominant women who are here to express themselves, learn, and share experiences.  Where is our focus on that?  Shouldn't we also be addressing topics that are specifically celebrating Dominant women?

SylvereApLeanan -> RE: FAQ Setup (1/25/2010 2:10:32 PM)

You're right, we should.  I think the current focus is on the guys because the FAQ came about as the result of our frustration over their bad behavior.  Since you noticed the skewed focus first, I'd love for you to suggest some topics that will help balance it.  Thanks for your help.  [:)]

Domin8tingUrDrmz -> RE: FAQ Setup (1/25/2010 2:14:39 PM)

I totally agree!

While this isnt celebratory, I considered putting information in regarding poor dominant behavior as well. We do ocassionally see a female coming in here demanding the boys get on their knees and grovel...lol. I think new to the forum Dominas could often use a refresher course in etiquette as well.

As far as celebrating our just being Women, and being dominant women to boot, yeah, I would love to see some of that included. Care to get the ball rolling?

LadyPact -> RE: FAQ Setup (1/25/2010 4:29:05 PM)

I might just do that.  Probably something to the tune of that fun energy that happens when Dommes get sparked just by talking and brainstorming together.  It's one of the reasons that, in the past, I've enjoyed Domme only events.  I find that Dominant women respond very well together in certain scenarios where they feel open to expressing themselves without being hindered.  As has been mentioned lately on other threads, we often inspire each other, and get fantastic ideas from one another.  We have such great resources in the minds and experience levels here.  It would be such a pity if we wasted the opportunity.

My view is there are more decent male posters than not. Many of us want to look, read and learn. Sometimes the questions we ask may grate a little, that goes with the territory though.

As I mentioned in the other reply, I think brainstorming/imagination for newer Dominants would be helpful.  Things along the lines of getting started, beginner techniques, and so on.  If we're really here to answer frequently asked questions, I'd like us to remember that not all new questions just come from males.

I haven't read all of the replies yet for ideas on this thread, but if it hasn't come up yet, we may want to consider the 'converting a vanilla SO' topic that seems to be so frequent here.  I'd like folks to have an opportunity to get that information from the woman's view, rather than the way it comes across so often.  (You know, the buy the strap on for 'her' as a gift idea.  LOL.)  I realize that goes to both genders for the Dominant role, but if you ever watch threads between the two gender boards, they don't come off quite the same.
