ORIGINAL: Moonhead Brain is right, however, that the statement in his OP is untrue. For the reason given above, devout Christians (and Muslims, Hindus, Buddhists, $cientologists, Mormons, Satanists, Wiccans...) refuse to offer any proof of their beliefs, as they accept these on blind faith, and anybody who refuses to do the same is damned and not worth bothering with. I don't think so. I have close relatives - including a Mother - who are what you could call devout - and they couldn't care less about the next persosn beliefs. And I suppose I would much rather take a person who goes about his/her beliefs quietly - whatever they may be - than someone who is militant in his/her beliefs - whatever they may be. Religion happens to be a very human construct - can be very positive. I mean our whole political system is based upon religious ideas - John Locke was a puritan. That isn't what I was really getting at: the point is that God's existence has to be accepted on blind faith, and any evidence either way would be completely irrelevant. That's part of what religion is all about: accepting things that can't be proven.
