Actually, OP, I don't think anyone here cares whether you sanction casual BDSM or not.

750+ posts to this thread say otherwise.

Since some of the replies within the thread itself are your own, it would be My opinion that those, as well as the other discussions within the thread taken out, would be more realistic of a total.

I am already subtracting my posts.

I consider efforts to hijack the thread just as insulting as anything else that has been said more directly.

The thread was moved to random stupidity. Get over it, start a new thread or leave.

You used the term "legend" before the "mob" appeared to take you to task for its use, so your argument is ridiculous.

Am I to be faulted for knowing them so well?

If you wished to avoid "the mob" that you claim you know so well, you could have easily changed your wording.

Since you know us so well and you kept that wording, you therefore must want this attention. Either you want the attention and went for it on purpose or the above statement is false.

Judge, jury and executioner all rolled into one.

What I think we do see differently is the use of pronouns such as xhe or hir. I've always taken them as in to include a person of any, or even multiple genders. Another possibility might be the pronouns being used because someone was unsure of whether to use he or she as appropriate. I don't automatically see the use of such pronouns as an automatic slight against someone, though I'm sure in some cases that they have been.

If someone refers to themselves as the pronoun "she", it is respectful to follow that... just my opinion

We agree on that.  The angle that I was looking at it from is the use of pronouns by other parties.

(It's still early for Me here.  Let Me see if I can get this to make sense.)

In alice's case (and I'm not picking on you, alice, I'm just using the example), she refers to herself as she, so I would follow suit.  Yet, in other cases, hir or xhe might be used if a person hasn't specifically referred to themselves by a specific gender, or in those cases where someone is discussing a hypothetical person.

Like you, I'm not in the position to have a first hand knowledge of how those who are or have been through transition feel on the subject.  It does make Me curious, as I've never especially made the link before.

Did I ask you for your advice?

Neither of your options is satisfactory.

I'll stay and continue to respond.

This is a good thread. Anyone interested in casual bdsm can see the degree of maturity they can expect in the community.

There are literally hundreds of examples.

I really shouldn't have to tell you this, but folks involved in BDSM are just like any other subsection of society. That means that all points of view on the gender debate are going to exist here just like they are anywhere else in the world. Everything from accepting someone as female because that is the gender that they have always felt they were, to those who will never see someone as female because they were XY at birth, and all positions inbetween.

If alice is transgendered it is not "personal opinion" to call her a man or a "hir" or a "xhe"... I am not a fan of hers or anything, but I am a person that will vehemently stand up for those who are in the LGBT community. It is as big of a civil rights issue as was civil rights for Black people in the 1960s. I prefer to be on the right side of history in this regard. If alice wants to be referred to as a woman here, then I will refer to her as such. If people I genuinely like on this site decide that they do not want to refer to her as a "she" because of their own bigotry or because they think that tearing her down on this point is something to be lauded... well my opinion of such people will be lowered.

As to alice, well, I do not appreciate age-ism, sex-ism, weight-ism either, but two wrongs do not make a right... When it was ambiguous on the other thread as to who alice was, and she was attacking others for their weight, age, etc, I could see poking holes in her bigotry by demonstrating she was just as vulnerable... but since she has stated who she is, I really see no point in it.

Agreed. Except for one thing...she is NOW claiming that she never said she was born male. That's where she and I part ways. (that, and her flame-baiting some very nice people)

SaintIntensity -> RE: A legend returns ... (2/19/2010 9:24:43 AM)

you will be faulted for what you say - that provides more than enough material anyway
your lies are transparent - you do not even weave them in a convincing and consistent way - I hope you aren't working on thrillers!

if you expect confrontation, you will always find it
YOU invited it and then bleat about it
your opinion of yourself is not supported by your comments or the facts about you

delusional types are not uncommon on here - so despite the last 2 years being tough on your wrists, you are not alone

chat with like-minded folk - if you can find them - surely they will find you (unless they have all fallen prey to your imaginary hordes of evil, self-serving
casual BDSMers)

have you ever indulged in BDSM practices with someone who you DIDN'T love?
are you jealous of those who engage in casual encounters?
is it lonely on that high horse?

no need to answer - we know - you are just voicing a variant of the lonely teen cry of "why do the nice girls always date dickheads?" - nothing new, and that sums you up
perfectly

a relationship has to satisfy the wants and needs of BOTH parties - sure some will compromise, but its their call - so if you aren't getting the enquiries, your product isnt attractive in today's market, and no amount of posturing and self-righteousness will change things

as Gandhi said (paraphrased) "even if you are in a minority of one, the truth is still the truth" - you just have to be sure you are right - and as your main complaint is being alone, what price that feeling of smug satisfaction - when everyone else is having fun (AND possibly finding love, passion, commitment et al)

AquaticSub -> RE: A legend returns ... (2/19/2010 9:25:15 AM)

Nope and I really don't care that you didn't. Of course you will do what you like. However, since it got moved to a place where hijack is allowed and encouraged, bitching about it is just pitching a fit. Take it up with the mods if you don't like it.

And we agree on one thing. There are excellent examples of maturity and immaturity in this thread. Sadly, we are in complete disagreement about who is being immature.

ETA because being into or not into casual BDSM has nothing to do with maturity. This thread has proven that.

Or the mob is so obsessed with me it doesn't matter what I do, it is enough to post to the forums for them to climb out of the woodwork.

Going to fault me for their predictability?

I'd be compelled to agree as well. The pronouns, by nature, are going to be gender-restrictive and it would be more applicable for them to use the gender they currently are, rather than the previous. It would be courteous.

You seriously judge your importance to these forums by how long your threads get?

If he does ... he's some catching up to do ... [8D]

3900+ posts ... which equates to 7800+ accepting that we agree with each other (and anyway, looks more "Legendary" for the shits and grinz)

http://www.collarchat.com/m_2321792/mpage_200/tm.htm

We planned all along to bring our guests, a large number of whom had never met, to the Woodshed as soon as we were persuaded to rearrange the date and flashmob Orlando with malice aforethought. I guess this counts as an obvious stance in this debate.

Nearly 200 pages THERE (as opposed to elsewhere also) ... and not one dissenting voice.

Not sure how many of our friends found any of their "casual" experiences and opportunity to share opinion amongst peers in Orlando particularly traumatic though ? We reckoned it up and arrived at a figure ... err ... none ... actually.

I don't think anyone cares what the clown thinks, but it helps that he's funny to watch.

You'll never know because you never simply come on and go "Hey, I'm Bob. How is everyone?". You always take a tone of "This is THE way, everything else is wrong". The only predictablity here is that people don't like those who put themselves on false platforms.

Have you even noticed that both those into and not into casual BDSM are in agreement over how you present your opinions?

Evidently not. You are claiming to be insulted but refuse to back up the claims. There is no reasoning there and no one is flocking to your side.
