ORIGINAL: antinomy Bob....what makes YOU an authority on the subject? That's part of the problem here. Yes, you have had BDSM experiences, then again, so have a lot of other people here. You feel that you are an authority on what is harmful to other people, even arguing that you know what's better for them than they do themselves. Do you really, REALLY not see the problem in this? I'm not trying to be a jerk here, I'm just trying to figure out where you are coming from. I've discovered truths along my path which I am sharing. Whether others agree or disagree is entirely up to them, it is not my responsibility to convert/convince them. It is my responsibility to share the truths I've learned. This I am doing. quote:
And yes, you and Mercnbeth obviously have a history, and don't get along. It's apparent. I don't call that character assassination, I call it mutual dislike (even though I strongly suspect you will claim no such feeling, because it would undermine the transcendant persona you are trying to project). Merc is not the only member of the mob who feels that way. The posts to this thread attest to that. And I am not going to get into an argument about semantics. If it is easier for you to accept such behaviour by calling it "mutual dislike" it is your affair. It is clear to me (and I dare say any reasonably mature and responsible adult) that it fits the definition for "character assasination". I for one feel no need to make excuses for Merc's behaviour. quote:
I just don't see what you are seeing in this thread. I think that a whole lot of people have tried to reach out to you- but you keep pushing everyone out, because your view is- in your estimation- the only valid one. While there are lots and lots of things in the world I don't agree with, or believe in, I recognize their validity to other people. Then all I can say is your degree of maturity is no better than Merc's if you cannot see his behaviour for what it is.
